@AngelPuppy1 I usually went 2 or 3 times a week.  It was fun.  I enjoyed going. It also got me out of the house.  Im retired and I found that havind having a plan for the day is a good thing.

I don't want to get tied down to something because I enjoy being home with DH.  Neither of us is that well and I want to spend as much time with him as possible.  I am thinking if it works out, I might just go 2 times a week.  I know some people probably go more and maybe every day, but that's not feasible for me.  Thanks for your post!

Getting out to go to exercise for me would make an excellent excuse to stay home !

If you  previewed most of the  videos, you'd see that they emphasize  that space  isn't an issue.  If you have a simple table chair, that you can stand in front of or behind or to the side of, you have enough space.

The dance one takes a little more space obviously.

By the time you drove to and back from the facility, excluding the time inside it, you could have finished your session.  They have the "live" programs scheduled at different times during the day. So, you could do 2 / day.

I always enjoyed (!) Jenny the trainer's sessions: calm and very aware of what the older viewer's issues could be.

Best of luck as you begin this healthy endeavor !

@jlkz

I get what you are saying.  Where we have the vcr or whatever you call the tape machine (you can see how up I am on these things - not!) is in our very small living room where DH is pretty much all day (he is not well) and he sits in his easy chair and watches sports and other things and naps, etc. So, this is not really an option for me to use tapes.  Plus, as I said earlier, I, when on my own, just don't have motivation any more.  I truthfully don't want to go to an exercise place but I thought it might help me as I am trying to lose some weight and get more fit all around.  I am going Friday to check it out.  Thanks for your well wishes!

I understand.  I watched the  on demand videos and live programs on my iPad.

It would probably be more inspiring for you to attend the facility....getting out for a brief break and even make some new acquaintances while exercising !

I used to do that when I belonged to a fitness place ages ago.  If you miss a few days, you have to push yourself to go back!  I decided I am going tomorrow to check this place out.  Oh, boy....

@AngelPuppy1  Boy you are not wrong. I had been going about 4 days a week religiously. Yesterday I did laundry and didn't go even though I had no reason not to. Today I have a dr appointment so I'm using that as an excuse now. I know I'll force myself to put  my sneakers on and go tomorrow but it will be a push. I just can't get in back in the groove. Smiley Wink

Well, I guess I will see.  I am not a very outgoing person.  This could be a short experience!

This place is strictly for women.  That is one of the reasons that I thought I would prefer it.  He would not be able to go anyway; his health would not allow it.

Plus, there is always so much stuff that needs done at home - and my energy only goes so far.  If I don't get this or that done, then I get behind and I feel bad.  It's a pull back and forth.

Re: Silver Sneakers - anyone use this program?

Well - I checked out the place.  It seems pretty nice.  I tried out the 30 and out thing.  Oh, boy.  It sure moves fast!  I could not keep up at all as you constantly change machines.  And, of course, I did not know how to use any of the machines.  The instructor was very nice and everyone else was also.  I don't think this particular program is for me.  It just moves too quickly and if you don't keep up, then you hold up the person behind you.  I think I may try some of the other programs instead.  I made the first step, so I don't know if I will proceed or not.
