Wow --- that takes a lot of time thought, doesn't it? I have time I guess but I don't really want to invest that much time. Do you have that 30 and out thing? Thanks so much for your post!
Don't know what 30 and out is. My water classes are an hour plus changing and driving time so 2 hours total give or take. The walking track is however long I want it to be. Can be 5 minutes or hours. Some people walk 5 miles a day. Not me of course. I'm retired so I enjoy it
The 30 and out thing is some kind of circuit routine from what I understand. There is a circule of machines and you have like a minute or so on each one and then you go to the next and so on and so on. I guess there is a recording or instructor that tells you when to move to the next. It takes 30 minutes and it's done in a group. Don't know about this but it's one of the options. Thanks for your post and I am glad you enjoy your water classes, etc.

@Mz iMac wrote:@AngelPuppy1 As long as the personal trainer is connected to a "network" gym, it's FREE!
My weight training is 3x's per week. I am "slim" & wanted to tone my arms & legs.
Secretly, I'm working on a 6 pk w/o denying myself food.
I haven't been to an exercise place since I was in my early 30's and I'm almost 73, so I am really a novice to all these things. It would be a shock to me, I'm sure!
What I would like -- in a perfect world -- (ha and double ha) is to lose a bit of weight (I am trying to cut back on calories a bit), firm and tone up and improve my strength and flexibility. This is a lot - as I am writing this!!! Did you get a personal trainer or just get guidance on how to do your training? Thanks.

They gym I went to had people going to classes using their Silver Sneakers program but it was the same thing that I could participate in as someone paying to join the gym.
There are all kinds of exercise classes that you can try. From very easy to more intense. It's up to you as to what you want to do. If you're just starting out and have not been exercising for some time just let your instructor know and ask for advice.
From what I understand with my insurance, it is free to do some basic programs but if you want some of the additional classes, there are some nominal charges. I think I am going to go within a few days to find out more. Thanks.

So, you do your routines at home doing tapes and things? I would rather do this but I fear I will not stick to it or be motivated enough on my own. Plus, I really don't have much space at all. Thanks.

Getting out to go to exercise for me would make an excellent excuse to stay home !
If you previewed most of the videos, you'd see that they emphasize that space isn't an issue. If you have a simple table chair, that you can stand in front of or behind or to the side of, you have enough space.
The dance one takes a little more space obviously.
By the time you drove to and back from the facility, excluding the time inside it, you could have finished your session. They have the "live" programs scheduled at different times during the day. So, you could do 2 / day.
I always enjoyed (!) Jenny the trainer's sessions: calm and very aware of what the older viewer's issues could be.
Best of luck as you begin this healthy endeavor !

The fitness center that I went to before retiring has a Silver Sneakers program. Now I don't pay the membership fee. It's Anytime Fitness and it's about 10 minutes from my house. I live in small town so it's never crowded. It's always clean. I like it but as soon as I miss a few days it's hard to get back in the habit of going.

@AngelPuppy1 A real personal trainer. I am not his only client. Took him 3-4 months to fit me in his schedule. Once people found out their ins co pays for personal trainers, the rush was on! ![]()

I didn't know that either. I will have to look into it also. I think I would certainly benefit from this if my insurane pays for this or at least part of it. Thanks.

I used to do that when I belonged to a fitness place ages ago. If you miss a few days, you have to push yourself to go back! I decided I am going tomorrow to check this place out. Oh, boy....
