Just had arthroscopic surgery to clean up my shoulder joint. Was informed that it was not successful and could not access the areas needed to accomplish the clean up. Next step would be a total shoulder replacement surgery. From what I hear this is the nightmare of replacement surgeries and recovery takes up to two years. Does anyone have experience with this subject? The thought of this really frightens me but as it is now I have no use of my shoulder. My range of movement is very limited. Now I am headed back to physical therapy. I previously went through six months of physical therapy and the pain forced me stop. That had been the last ditch effort prior to arthroscopic surgery. I was told that arthroscopic surgery was the new miracle procedure and replacement surgery was not something doctors did much anymore. Now after failed surgery That is my only option.
I am scared and disappointed.
