I return my full sharps container to Walgreens. They then give me an empty container.

I called the pharmacists to ask if they take sharps back and she said no, that you can put it in the recycle bin ---she said to tape up the lid well. I was surprised to say the least. can take it to a diposal place too but I can't get there.

In my area of WV, we label the container "SHARPS" "DO NOT RECYCLE", and set on top of our regular trash for pickup.

In my county (Sarasota County) we can take the sharps container to the Health Department and they give you an empty one.

I use to work for a medical waste removal company. They had a service to pick up sharps containers. You are not permitted to throw them in the trash. I found a site called SafeNeedle Disposal.org. You enter your zip code and will give you places to dispose them. You could ask your hotel what trash removal service they use and call them.
