First time for me. Intense throbbing pain from lower back down leg to ankle. Can't sleep because no comfortable position. Acetaminophen and ibuprofen not helping much. Anyone dealt with this pain?

I had that when I was pregnant. I sought help from a good chiropractor. Even after the first visit, I felt some kind of relief.

@CJC Get the book "Pain Free"  by Pete Egoscue. Do the positions for sciatica. You will be amazed. No drugs and no chiropractor.

I'd be wary of any physician prescribing  narcotics . That's how so many people young and old develop addictions .

I've seen where Orthopedic surgeons  order medrol dose pack to decrease inflammation in nerve .  They also prescribe  physical therapy and  electro  stim machines also can be utilized . There are other medications  that specifically target nerve  pain. You should be taught  proper body mechanics to avoid  a twisting motion which often causes  the sciatica to flare up.

Try putting an ice pack at the base of your spine for 20 minutes and repeat several times throughout the day.  I have had minor issues and that seemed to help me out.

I've had it.  For me it resulted in two spinal fusion surgeries.  As recommended above ice packs and anti-inflammatory if you can,  Aleve.  Stretching can also help.  Just Google physical therapy exercises for sciatica.

You do need to find out the cause of the sciatica.  I ended up needing to see a neurologist that had a speciality in orthopedics.  If you don't know where to start a visit or call to your primary care doc should get you headed in the right direction.

I hope this resolves for you.  It is the worst pain I was ever in.

Recently learned about this personal device that uses vibration (not electircal current). It was developed by a physical therapist (I have no affiliation with him or the company). From the Rezzimax website:

Finding Relief from Back Pain and Sciatica with Rezzimax Techniques and the Pain Tuner Pro
June 5, 2023

Back pain and sciatica can be debilitating conditions that significantly impact daily life. Whether it's a result of a herniated disc, spinal stenosis, or muscle strain, the constant discomfort and limited mobility can take a toll on physical and emotional well-being. While managing chronic pain can feel like an uphill battle, there is hope. In this article, we'll explore how Rezzimax techniques and the Pain Tuner Pro offer a natural and effective approach to alleviate back pain and sciatica, providing relief and restoring quality of life.

Understanding Back Pain and Sciatica:

Back pain can originate from various sources, such as muscle imbalances, spinal misalignments, or degenerative conditions. Sciatica, on the other hand, refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, often caused by a compressed or irritated nerve root in the lower back. Both conditions can result in sharp or dull pain, numbness, tingling sensations, and reduced mobility.

How Does Vagus Nerve Stimulation Help Manage Back Pain and Sciatica:

Vagus nerve stimulation plays a crucial role in managing back pain and sciatica. The vagus nerve, one of the longest nerves in the body, connects the brain to various organs, including the spinal cord. Stimulating the vagus nerve can have profound effects on pain perception, inflammation, and overall well-being.

When the vagus nerve is stimulated, it activates the body's natural relaxation response, promoting a state of calm and reducing the perception of pain. This can be especially beneficial for individuals suffering from chronic back pain and sciatica, where pain signals can become amplified and chronic inflammation can exacerbate symptoms.

The Pain Tuner Pro, Your Comprehensive Solution:

The Pain Tuner Pro, a handheld device developed by Rezzimax, is a vital tool in managing back pain and sciatica. Its unique features, including variable frequency resonance and specially designed wings, are designed for any chronic pain management routine.

The Pain Tuner Pro's vagus nerve stimulation feature gently activates the vagus nerve, helping to regulate pain signals and reduce inflammation in the affected areas. By promoting relaxation and restoring balance within the nervous system, the Pain Tuner Pro can alleviate back pain and sciatica symptoms.

Using the Pain Tuner Pro consistently, individuals can experience many of the following benefits:
Vagus Nerve Stimulation:

The Pain Tuner Pro stimulates the vagus nerve, promoting relaxation and restoring balance within the body. This gentle stimulation helps calm the nervous system and reduces pain signals originating from the back and sciatic nerve.

Muscle Relaxation:

The vibrations produced by the Pain Tuner Pro penetrate deep into the muscles, promoting relaxation and releasing tension. This can provide immediate relief from muscle spasms and tightness commonly associated with back pain and sciatica.

Improved Blood Circulation:

The resonance created by the Pain Tuner Pro enhances blood flow to the affected areas, delivering oxygen and essential nutrients necessary for healing. Increased circulation can help reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and support the body's natural healing processes.

Management That is Non-Invasive and Drug-Free:

The Pain Tuner Pro offers a non-invasive and drug-free alternative to managing back pain and sciatica. Unlike medications or invasive procedures, it does not carry the risk of negative side effects or dependency, making it a safe and effective long-term solution.

Mood Boosters:

Additionally, vagus nerve stimulation has been shown to participate in happy chemical modulation, such as serotonin and norepinephrine, which play a huge role in pain regulation and overall mood. By enhancing the production of these neurotransmitters, vagus nerve stimulation can improve a person's sense of well-being and allow for a more positive outlook, even in the presence of chronic pain.

Your How To Guide
Countless individuals have experienced significant relief from back pain and sciatica with a combination of Rezzimax techniques and the Pain Tuner Pro. Here are two videos sharing techniques that have helped these individuals eliminate low back pain and sciatica from their lives:

Back pain and sciatica should not dictate your life. With Rezzimax techniques and the Pain Tuner Pro, you can find relief from chronic pain, regain mobility, and restore your overall well-being. Embrace the power of natural healing and take control of your life once again.

Yes!  I had a bout beginning last May 1st.  After struggling for 2 months and with no improvement I fianlly went to PT.  and after 9 visits (and doing excercises at home) I finally got relief.  Awful experiance and since then no return.  I still do excercises a few times per week.

I have Spinal Stenosis & severe sciatica pain.  When it gets unbearable I go to my Primary & get a shot of Torodol & it is like heaven,  Takes the pain & inflammation away!   I also  use Tens Unit, Ice, Volaren & stretching exercises.  Will not have surgery because it is NOT a permanent  solution.  Have also used SalonPas patches on my foot for fast relief.  I do whatever I have to do to keep out of pain!!!
