My discomfort started about a year ago, but has increased in the last 4 months; I use capcaisin cream, lidocaine patches and have taken more Aleve than I ever took before and after both knee replacements, to achieve some relief. My pain is centered across that right deltoid muscle and is a deep ache, not like surface pain.
I am right hand dominant; instinctively reach, lift, pull, carry, etc. with my right arm, so it seemed quite logical my pain was coming from stress and overuse. Resting the arm made no difference which is how I realized the pain comes from deep in the muscle. I do not sleep on my right side ever.
I am aware of the increase in my adult vaccinations; not just a yearly flu shot, but I've also had a swine flu shot, Tdap booster, 2 pneumonia vaccines, Covid vaccines 2x a year for 3 years, etc. This pain is at the top of my list to discuss at my next medical appt., and I'm hoping my provider is aware it's a real thing.
Since I began with this problem I since have gotten EVERY injection in my butt/hip area. I had radiation on my left breast 9 years ago so NO injections on that side and I refused to get another on my right arm after that last incedent 5 years ago. I am right handed so some movements hurt!! Good luck to you. I agree...rest does not help and how do you rest when you are right handed?

This is not meant to be silly! 🥴
But have you tried not holding onto your cell phone with that hand/arm for an extended time to see if the pain slowly subsides. Repetitive lifting to view or use your phone in the same way each time might have caused this problem. 🤗
Good point but I do not use my cell (or any phone really) for long periods of time. But thanks!

A no from me as far as cell phone use; I'm not tied to my phone.

Neither am I. Has nothing to do with over use. In fact, it is better when i move it around with arm exercises. I do Classical stretch which you can find for free on YouTube.
