Re: SINUS HEADACHE AND PRESSURE

I use a three-pronged approach to sinus headaches. I'll take some generic Sinus Tylenol, then flush that side with saline nasal spray repeatedly to soften and irrigate the blockage, and then apply Vaporub in the area. I'll continue to irrigate with the saline nasal spray every so often until the blockage is cleared. The saline nasal spray is good at irrigating the blockage, softening it up, and making it easier to clear.

Re: SINUS HEADACHE AND PRESSURE

[ Edited ]

@tends2dogs  Hi, how are you?  I just ran across this thread.

I have it too!  I've been miserable on and off for a few months now.

I have headaches, mostly on one side and my teeth hurt as well.  My ears are bothering me as well.

Are you down here?  I think the weather change has alot to do with it.  Pressure in the air means pressure in the head meaning a big headache.

I'm ready to go to an urgent care but I know sinus if bacterial usually go away on their own.  I've just taken too many antibiotics in 2021 and 2022.  Plus with GERD they make me nauseous.

Head pressure equals weather pressure?  Here, tomorrow will be the worst in SoFlo East Coast and clear out Monday.

I have had this most of my life growing up down here with the sinuses.

Also a tooth grinding issue is another subject entirely.

Re: SINUS HEADACHE AND PRESSURE

Hello @Pink123,  Sorry to hear you are dealing with headaches, too.  I really don't think mine is sinus because I have no congestion.......just the pressure and pain at different parts of my head, including face and teeth, and neck at different times.  I have had bad headaches throughout my life, but never have they hung on this long.  More like a day or two.  I haven't had one in over a year until now.

At the walk in, the PA asked me if I had earaches and I said yes.  I usually get an earache prior to breaking out with a cold sore.  She checked my ears and said that I had a lot of wax.  I was grossed out, but of course, it was down deep.  My one ear was so full she couldn't see my eardrum.  She asked if I had trouble hearing and my DH piped up and said, she hears everything!  LOL  I really do.  She flushed them for me, but it did nothing for the headache and my hearing is still good. Woman Wink She said she doubted it had anything to do with my headaches, but she would throw it in for free.

I actually think it is muscle tension.  It started after I lifted several heavy boxes over my head onto a shelf. I tried going to a chiropractor.  He took xrays and said I had quite a bit arthritis in my upper neck.  I had two treatments, but no relief.  I did have two TENS treatments and massages that felt wonderful, but gave me no relief.  Finally when I woke up early in the morning and had to stand in a hot shower to get relief followed by laying in bed with a heating pad on my face, my DH came in and said I had to do something about it.  I agreed and we went to the walkin.

I have to say that after weeks of pain, 15 mgs of prednisone and 10 mgs of a muscle relaxer, the pain was gone!  While I know I can't take these things long term, I need to find out what exactly is going on.  I see a neuro on Monday.

If you are suffering, you may want to see someone.  The PA I saw ordered the MRI so she could rule out aneurism, tumor, blood clot, etc.  After having a headache that long, I wanted it done.

I'm glad you reached out.  I guess it is true, misery loves company.  I will let you know what I find out on Monday.

Take care!

Hi @tends2dogs .  You could be right. I've always had muscle tension throughout my life as well.

I do know that I do not want to take antobiootic's that are  not necessary.  Had enough in 2021-2022.

I don't know, but I do believe in magnetic therapy and have had a roller on my neck area and used it for years. I can't find it. lol.

Your tall too right?  My GP says tall people will always suffer with their necks.

Am I at the point of an MRI of upper neck?  Pretty soon as I don't see a solution be it diet (food allergies - I have tried to get off dairy), on and on which is no go. Very confused.

Take care now. Best.

Re: SINUS HEADACHE AND PRESSURE

@Pink123   I am 5' 6" and used to be one inch taller.  I have always been thin even when I was pregnant.

The MRI was of the brain.  Have you had dizziness?  I haven't, but apparently many people are having dizziness /vertigo and they are attributing it to covid vax which I never got.  Their doctors have told them this so it isn't a big secret.

I have always been healthy so this is really crimping my lifestyle LOL!
