Is anyone bothered with this? I am with both joints. My daughter, the nurse, says that it's common. She's also a Massage Therapist and has worked on people with those also.
But my chiropractor is recommending Physical Therapy now. It just doesn't seem to get better.
Last year I brok my hip and have a partial hip replacement, now it's this, but then I'm 83, so lots come with age.

I have also had a hip replacement, physical therapy, etc. I had an MRI to see if I had any sort of spinal issues. Nothing there, thank goodness. Finally diagnosed with SI joint dysfunction. Over the last 8 months, I have received 3 targeted steroid injections in the SI joint. I am mostly pain free now. Maybe something for you to research.

Yes, I have it on the right side. I've had problems for almost 2 years. Mine was caused from a sudden jolting step down while walking backwards (long story) and then I immediately fell on my buttock on that side because of the momentum. I have many, many symptoms.
I went through 4 months of physical therapy and continue to do exercises at home. I wore an SI joint belt 24/7 for 7 months. Even doing all that, I had a really bad flare the week after Thanksgiving. Just this year, I started seeing an osteopathic doctor, so I saw her. She did an adjustment and put me on muscle relaxers for a week. I don't know whether it was the adjustment, the muscle relaxers, or both, but I have felt the best since then that I have felt in almost 2 years.
I feel sorry for those of us who have this condition. Most people haven't heard of it, so if I feel need to mention it, I just say I have a back issue, because people understand that. I really feel that I will likely have this the rest of my life, and it's just going to come down to being able to manage it. I'm 61.

I suffer from SI in both joints also, which is very painful. Therapy helped the left side, but not the right. I see my chiropractor regularly and a pain doctor. I have also had two steroid injections which only help for a short time. A heating pad, exercise, and the chiropractor are my only temporary relief. Good luck.

@Alsace Gal From the Mayo Clinic - The sacroiliac joints link the pelvis and lower spine. These two joints are made up of the bony structure above the tailbone, known as the sacrum, and the top part of the pelvis, known as the ilium. The sacroiliac joints support the weight of the upper body when standing.

I had SI joint dysfunction and physical therapy (recommended by a pain specialist) helped. It's sure worth a try if you're very uncomfortable.

Sympathy for your pain. Glad you have a nurse to help guide you.
Getting old always reminds me of the nursery rhyme - "How to amuse them today?"

Thanks everyone for your responses, I didn't know so many have it, I'm fine while sitting, but when working in the kitchen, standing is what make it hurt. I've used heat, but will have to go to the clinic to be referred to PT. Again, thank you and letting me know what you are doing for yours.
