Recall of Trader Joe's Multigrain Crackers due to possible metal fragments in product.

[ Edited ]

TJ is recalling some of their Multigrain Crackers With Sunflower and Flax Seeds due to the possibility of metal fragments in some.

This recall IS NOT SHOWING UP ON THE FDA RECALL PAGE. This is fourth such recall from them in  a few weeks that has not been posted at the FDA. The other recalls in July were for rocks in 2 kinds of cookies, rocks in fully cooked falafels and insects in broccoli cheddar soup. If you want more information on this recall you can find it here on TJ's own page about the recall.

Funny I love these and used to indulge in them all the tme, but since cutting back on fat and carbs, I stopped buying them.

@alohakz @Good question. They are not legally required to do so, but I'm suprised they have not.

@Shelbelle Same here, they are delicious and versatile but have cut back on fat and carbs so haven't had them in a long time.

Have indulged in a couple Ritz crackers at a sitting however, found them really satisfying when having tuna salad, they are so rich, have never really had them before. Smiley Happy

@Mindy D  I don't know why you keep looking to the FDA and typing in all caps about TJ not showing up.

First of all the FDA does not regularly inspect food manufacturers so at least TJ is looking out on its own.

Their website clearly posts recalls and each checkout also has notices with pictures clearly visible. I've told you this before.

Those like myself who shop TJ know what is going on. I trust them. Plus no injuries/illnesses have been reported.

Since no food outlet is required to report to the FDA I see nothing wrong here.

You have it rather backwards by putting the FDA as the gold standard.

It isn't. I could recommend some documentaries but some are probably not interested.

I am also concerned that there's something going on with recalls and TJ's in that there has been an increase in too short a period of time.

TJ's in some areas had a hard time opening stores including my city plus competition from established stores does not make for good neighbors.

Global sources of ingredients and food types including our own can contribute to the problem.

Just be aware of your own markets.
