Re: Rebounder/Mini Trampoline - Anybody Use One?

Yes, I started around 2003 with an Urban Rebounder from HSN. After I wore that out, I purchased a Jump Sport. The Urban Rebounder was a spring rebounder and the jump sport used bungees. I would definitely purchase a bungee rebounder.

During Covid, I splurged and purchased a Bellicon Rebounder. Bellicon is supposed to be top of the line. If you are new to rebounding, I think a jump sport is good quality.

I would not buy a rebounder that folds, those seem unstable. I would definitely get the hand rails.

YOu can do anything that you want to do on a rebounder. Just walk on it and hold on, or bounce a little. Start slow. It is great exercise and it is something that I will stick to.

Re: Rebounder/Mini Trampoline - Anybody Use One?

@JeanLouiseFinch Funny you should ask....I've been researching this for a while...and I think I'd love it. I checked to see if my Y had them so I could try it out, but they don't keep them. My only reservation is the room it would take to have and use one. I'd want a larger one I think.....and I don't have a spare room for it. Besides, I'd want to use it in front of a TV maybe and I just don't have room in my family room or living room where I have TVs. I'd love to hear more about others' use of one. They look like fun!

I would enjoy using it but at my age, my bladder would not agree, if you get my drift !! I do use a mini stepper, no issues with that .

I was 15 when we got a big trampoline for our backyard.  Even at that age I had some problems with my bladder for the first few weeks, until I trained it be quiet so to speak.

I did not tell my Mom about that happening before she got on the trampoline the first time.  On her first jump up coming back down she had clamped her hands to stop the flow and the look on her face was hysterical.  She was in her late '30's.  She never got on it again.

I would love to try a rebounder but I would want the bar close by just in case.

Good morning.  Mine is an older version of the Bellicon so they may have changed their options.  At the time I bought mine (the largest - I think it's 45"), you could get the kind with legs that folded down (each one on its own hinge) or the version with metal legs that you could unscrew and reattach.  I have the detachable version.   I have a dedicated room for my workout equipment so mine stays up but my point is that once the legs are off, you turn it on its side and it's very slim.  You can roll it away and put it behind a door or under a bed.

Re: Rebounder/Mini Trampoline - Anybody Use One?

@JeanLouiseFinch  Of course I have one! lol

I researched a lot and decided not to get one of the inexpensive "starter" rebounders that many recommended. I didn't want to spend $100 to find out I liked it enough to get a better one.

I ended up getting a PURPLE 39 inch JumpSport Pro with a handlebar (helps with balance and adds versatility, can be removed). It cost a bit more but it is adjustable and, did I mention it is PURPLE...? lol

I highly recommend Earth & Owl on YT. Youll get answers to questions you don't even know to ask and you'll have fun.

Rebounding is probably very different than you think it is.But it has lots of health benefits. All levels of fitness can use one. I'm positive my 30 something neighbor uses hers differently than I do. And that is how it should be! Rebounding is not really like jumping on a big trampoline.

You have to have excellent balance to use a trampoline and many older people do not.  I'd kill myself.

@Kachina624  A handlebar helps. Rebounders improve balance. But I probably would not want one without a handlebar. It is good when you need it and, when you don't need it, you can just not use it.
