Re: Quick Pot Sticker Soup

[ Edited ]

Good morning Kitchenettes!

Guess what? - It's RAINING HERE!  I could barely make myself get out of bed this morning.  I have some shopping to do today to get ready for vacation and I am just dreading going in this rain. A cold front moved thru last evening (this is July, right?) and our temps are only in the 60's and this rain feel like it is being poured over ice on its' way down from the sky.  The weatherman said a warm front will move thru later today and to expect storms when it clashes with this cold front-yeah!  Sure wish we could send some of this rain to Cali and to the forest fires in Alaska and Canada.

Good morning Chili - what is on your agenda for today?  It's hump day so time to start those weekend plans.  Chili, just curious, but how old is your daughter?  Sounds like you all had a grand time this past weekend and made me miss those times with my girls.  Last evening I took all three of them out to dinner and we had such a good time.  None of us really wanted it to end.

Respect,

That Sundowners really gets some of them.  My Mom had it just before and for awhile after we had to place her in the nursing home.  The longer she was at the facility, she seemed to adjust.  If we took her out for the day, we made sure we had her back before supper because it seemed to be worse away from the home than it was when she was there.  My brother's symptoms were better after the med. adjustment at Senior Renewal as well.  I was thinking about it-Senior Renewal kind of "re-wired" my brother's brain, just as we are trying to re-wire my grandson's thru Brain Balance.  Both systems were developed by neurologists.  Keep us in the loop about your dear Mother.

mtc - If we could still get to the old forums, we had a thread about those sandwiches.  Some people called them the Hawaiian sammies because we used the Hawaiian rolls for them.  I have recipes for them made with ham, chicken or pastrami.  They are really good and my advice is if you make them, either lightly oil, butter, or mist your pan before putting the sammies in or use the non stick foil because as the sammies bake, the cheese will melt and stick.  These keep well in the freezer if you want to make them ahead and freeze them, too.  I also believe Pioneer Woman has a similar recipe and she wraps them individually and freezes.  They will make a fast, easy dinner that first evening we get to the condo.  I plan on sending a few to the store for perishables and will have them get chips, deli potato salad, baked beans, etc to go with them.  Let me know if you have any questions!

Writer,

Sending you prayers of blessings for your day.

Well it's time to fire up the ark and head out to the store.  A friend sent this to me and since I am feeling Noah today, it is more than appropriate to pass along;

Noahs Ark

I am not afraid of tomorrow for I have seen yesterday and I love today.

Noah's Ark : Everything I need to know, I learned from Noah's Ark ..

ONE : Don't miss the boat.
TWO
: Remember that we are all in the same boat!
THREE
: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR
: Stay fit. When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.

FIVE : Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX:
Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN
: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
EIGHT
: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE
: When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN
: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN
: No matter the storm, there’s always a rainbow at the end.

Sorry ladies,

I guess I violated rules with Noah's Ark.  Glad they didn't shut down the entire thread.  Anyway, I am busy making chex mix for our trip-I made two batches of muddy buddies and with the party mix it will use up the extra cereal we have.  I will be busy the next few days getting ready to go.  It already is making my head hurt!

Sorry again.  I should have re-read the rules-my bad.  Smiley Sad
