Bad behavior on his part??? Your evidence?
No excuse for a woman to not control herself just like there is no excuse for a man, period. bad behavior is bad behavior.
It is BAD BEHAVIOR to c0ck back and hit a woman in the head with your closed fist. Even prizefighters use gloves!!!! I saw it with my own two eyes. He was acting like he was in an Ali-Frazier match...not dealing with an angry woman.
Only one of the two ended up unconscious, being dragged out of the elevator.
If you think she was guilty of something too....they should have sorted it out in court.
NOT given him a plea deal.BTW - she was a fool to marry him, IMO, and needs some serious counseling.
Totally agree. I saw her hit him before they got on the elevator too. I do not think he was justified but neither was she. You don't just resort to violence.
She is not going anywhere. She is comfy with the lifestyle, sad to say.
This manufactured outrage over the video is foolish. This was settled in court, don't like it too bad. The legal system functioned with what they had. The NFL is just doing damage control; they already ruled. Baltimore knew about all of this. Look at Baltimore's past, if you can play, they look the other way.
The NFL got caught with their pants down. They made a decision; but this is mob mentality. Now that we can see video we get to go after him again. Why? We have laws and we don't burn people at the stake because a few people are outraged over video. The case was adjudicated already. You do not get 2 bites at the apple.
I do not care for the manner in which this was resolved; but this is trying him twice just because some people saw a video now.
Be angry with how this was handled in the 1st place.
I wonder if people felt this strongly when B's sister hit Jayz in the elevator or is that ok?
Give me a break. Ray Rice played in the NFL. If he could not take a hit, he was in the wrong game.
That is in a game.
You are saying it is ok to hit him because hey,he plays football. Wow!
I disagree. Violence is not ok, from either gender. Control yourself and learn to walk away.

With your kind of reasoning, Jay Z should have hit Solange. Sorry, but you are wrong.

Incorrect. She should not have hit him. Solange should have controlled herself, period.
How do you justify hitting anyone? Defending yourself is different.

You are naive - these type of men do not change overnight - and no one believes this is the first time he hit her either.
then call me naive......i STILL hope and pray that this will NEVER happen again and that they can live a life of peace going forward.....no matter what his future is.

Then please visit a prison and see how many repeat offenders are in there.

On 9/8/2014 loverly said:i absolutely agree sidsmom and icezeus. it's a shame that she felt the need to go through with marrying him after he had already assaulted her. did you see the portion of the press conference with the both of them that was held after the elevator incident was made public where he said, "I won't call myself a failure. Failure is not getting knocked down. It's not getting up." and his wife, janay said she "deeply regrets the role that she played the night of the incident." so, he's letting everyone know that he didn't fail. she's the one that failed because she didn't get up after he knocked her out. and then she sits up there and apologizes for making him knock her out. this is a clip of press conference that was held in may where he "apologizes." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJBkG_kyqxI
Blame the victim.
I thought that was finally over & done with years ago.
Abused victims often give "cover" to their abusers. They blame themselves for bringing the beating on...for being "jealous", for forcing the abuser to hurt them...lots of excuses.
It takes TWO people to make ONE abusive relationship. I would have walked away...but who knows how he threatened her in private?
We went through this with OJ & Nicole....even to Nicole covering for the abuse for years. When she finally broke free - he did just what he had said he would do - he killed her & got away with it.

Wow, some of you are blaming the victim....and most of you don't have a clue what happens to a woman's mind and power over time when subjected to abuse. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
I think Rice deserves to be fired. More employers should do that to abusers, male and female. There is no excuse for raising a hand to anyone.
