I have been prescribed that by my orthopedic surgeon.  I find it as effective as Bio Freeze and more expensive.  Many years ago my mom got Voltarine in pill form,so it has been around a while.  Hoping you have good results and pain relief.

I didn't have great luck with it but have friends who say it changed their life.  I hope the same for your husabnd!!!

Just a caution when  using Voltaren gel.  It is an NSAID and can cause stomach bleeding if you are sensitive to those.  It can be very beneficial for pain relief, but often we don't associate a topical product with causing the same sort of side effects as a pill.

My dr gave me Voltaren gel for an arthritic knee. Pricey and I got better pain relief from Ben Gay & an essential oil combo I use.

I experienced the inability to tinkle after 24 hrs on the gel so that was enough to discontinue for me. It works like an NSAID in that respect. I get reduced tinkle on 800 mg ibuprofen but on Voltaren I couldn't go at all.

DH used it and now the generic of Voltren.

He was originally prescribed for bone spur and pf.  He also uses it everyday around his knee and as needed in other areas. 

He he has been using it about 3 years.
