Had my hernia surgery early this morning. Went well with no problems with the sugery itself. Surgeon told me that I was probably born with this hernia, who knew?
Do have a peeing issue and was told if after 8 hours I am still having this issue, to go to the ER and they will have to insert a catheter for a couple days or so. Not anything new for me, but who in the world likes having that done?
Ice bag stuffed in my pants and haven't had real pain with the surgical part of it, just this "p" issue. Can't take any anti-inflammatory pain meds because of my bleeding colon issues, and won't take any Opiod Mers or anything with Codeine in it. Pretty much stuck with plain ole Tylenol as far as any pain meds.
Now I want to get this danged thing heal up so I can get back to my 2-3 day per week of my ice skating workouts/recumbent/treadmill/resistance machines and doing my Ab workouts on my Teeter Inversion Table. Won't rush anything as I learned by experiences decades ago that usually ends up taking longer, because of setbacks, than paying close attention to what my body is telling me. For some athletic individuals (even us real old farts), that ain't as easy as it sounds.
Thanks to everyone that offered me their thoughts and prayers, words cannot express how much those mean to me and my precious wife, Cindy.

Hope all goes well. Those of us who have been here a long time, and by that I mean on QVC boards and on this earth, need to support each other. Get well soon.

Glad all went well @hckynut except the pee issue. I'm well familiar with those catheters as my husband went through that after his prostate surgery due to his bladder being injured during the surgery. Hope you don't have to use them as long as he did.

@hckynut, glad that the surgery is over and that it went well. Praying for a quick recovery so that you can get back to your activities. Take care of yourself.

I bet youโre glad thatโs over, @hckynut. My husband had a robotic bilateral repair a few months ago. He had the same problem, and wasnโt allowed to go home until he was urinating. By 7 pm I thought he might have to spend the night so I told him to take a nap or at least relax. I left the room for a while, came back, and then ran water in the sink. I think the combination helped and we were home by 9.
Hopefully, you will soon have good results. Iโll say a prayer for you and your wife.

@hckynut, youโre a trooper. Glad to hear your surgery went well and hoping the complications sort themselves out soon.
I had a chuckle when I read about you getting back into your skating. I have been dogged with foot injuries for almost three years. Broke my foot once, (3rd metatarsal) healed, broke it again exactly a year later (4th metatarsal). Had the boot on the second time for ten weeks then on crutches for seven more. Finally healed. I took up swimming instead of walking during the summer months. Went back to elliptical in the fall and now have another repetitive use injury (inflammation around the sesamod).
At least itโs not broken. No more elliptical so I have switched to swimming in a pool (hate pools) and aeropilates. I am sure my doctor just rolls his eyes when he sees me coming. I have been active all of my life so this past two years has been a bit of he11.
I hope you are up and at โem soon John. My very best wishes for a speedy and full recovery. Your DW, pets and skates await your return to full health. LM
