Re: Quick Thinking For A Long Wound

Thank you for the information @Irshgrl31201

While I would not consider a pad sterile enough for a surgical procedure, I assume it's fine for an abrasion like we were dealing with.

We are all pretty careful because of lupus.  We always have a box or two of disposable gloves ready to use.

Hi @NAES1

Thank you for the advice!  We were also concerned about his ribs, but he refused to go to the ER because we had a corned beef in the pressure cooker.  The only reason I agreed was because I fell about two years ago causing small rib fractures and know there isn't really anything they can do for them.

We are checking the surrounding tissue and giving him Tylenol. So far, no signs of swelling or unusual redness.

Bahahahahaha!!! Oh this made me laugh so hard @Noel7 and I read it to my husband and he said he sounds like a perfectly rational man with intelligence off the charts!! My husband would probably do the same if he had a broken leg with the bone sticking out of the skin, if a corned beef dinner was involved. We had corned beef tonight too and I thought about you when I was making it because I knew you would most likely be having that as well. Hope you all enjoyed it! Happy St Patricks Day and I hope your husband feels better.

Woman LOL

Our guys love their corned beef!  We had the classic dinner with boiled potatoes, carrots and cabbage.  Horseradish, soda bread, and Irish coffee, recipe from the famous SF Buena Vista Cafe.

I can't wait to read your post to DH Smiley Happy Aside from patching him up with a huge pad, we had a good time. I sure hope you did, also.
