Hi. I had this surgery back in August and did all the required PT. My knee has never felt that good-stiff, sore, achy, irritating rubbing sensation on the side of the new kneecap-but I thought it was all part of the recovery/healing process and that it would take time for it to feel ok. Two weeks ago I experienced intense pain on the right side of my knee while going down the stairs. My knee was also more stiff and sore so I went in for an emergency appt with my surgeon. X-rays appear normal he says but states there's inflammation in the knee. He injected a steroid and put me on 1600 mg of Motrin daily. My knee feels a little better but is still quite irritated-it often feels like the appliance is "digging" into the tissue in there. Has anyone had personal experience with this? At this point I'm very concerned. Help! Forgot to mention that I'm supposed to call the surgeons office tomorrow to tell them how I'm doing.
