Hi kust wondering if anyone has had pseudogout and what was done as a treatment.  Did you adjust what you ate or anything you did differently to prevent flare ups.  Thanks for any help.

From Google:

"Pseudogout (SOO-doe-gout) is a form of arthritis characterized by sudden, painful swelling in one or more of the joints. Episodes can last for days or weeks."

I had chronic hand pain. Went to 3 rheumatologists and 10 yrs  before the 4th diagnosed correctly. I'm now 73 and was told I'll probably be on Cholcicine the rest of my life. Before I started the med my hands were swollen, painfull and misshappen. Now the shape is the same but not swollen. Cholcicine is a life saver.

This arthritis is Chondrocalcinosis/CPPD/pseuf\dogout. Totally different disease from regular gout. Has nothing to do with food intake. They say it's family related and trauma related.

Go to the trusted site Mayo.com to learn what you need to know.

Good luck

Thanks to both of you for replying.  I did read Mayo clinic and several other sites.  I was hoping someone that had it would say if  I ate ______ it lessened the pain.  I had really bad pain from Saturday to Tuesday and then the pain subsided.  I did see an orthopedic dr. in case it had to do with my torn meniscus.  He gave me a methylprednisolone pack and things are getting better.  Thanks again for the responses.

With all due respect to @Auntie CC , I don't think you could go wrong eating only an anti-inflammatory diet. I would at least try it for few months.  I hope you find relief @m0rgan. 😊
