I had a phone visit with my gastrologist the other day to go over my test results.  I have been taking lanzoprazole for years for GERD aka acid reflux.  Since taking it I have small polyps in my stomach so he wants me to wean off the lansoprazole by taking it every other day and make sure I take probiotics everyday.  I have lost weight but still need to lose more weight and I noticed my acid reflux is not as bad as it use to be.

Anybody else take probiotics?  I have been taking Andrew Lessman's for years I showed it to my doctor and he said they were good.

Hope it helps you.

I started taken a probiotic about 4 months ago - Garden of Life Womens formula.  It has helped my IBS tremendously.

Good luck to you.

Yes I do--and having been off them for a few weeks, I think I can tell a difference in my gut issues. I feel better ---when you get them, make sure it is in the many BILLIONS of the good pro/pre biotics not just in the millions. My DD takes one with 90 billion cfus-coloney forming units--and they are for women so other things to help with the lady parts.

I took probiotics one time when I was prescribed some antibiotics. The probiotics gave me the worst diarrhea so I won't take them again.

Of course, that's your prerogative but I know someone who had a similar issue and blamed it on a supplement they just started taking but it turned out to be caused by something else.

I take two.  These ended a yeast infection I had had for many months that medication was not touching.  I'm not sure which one did it...or if it took both of them to end it...but I still take each one...I'm afraid not to!  I now alternate days, but when I am back on antibiotics (like right now), I take both each day.  They will stop the stomach upset, diarrhea, and yeast infections that antibiotics will cause.

  • I am a true believer  of taking Andrew Lessman's  Ultimate Friendly Flora Probiotics especially after being overloaded with antibiotics for  Lyme disease years ago  and more recently as I got older a UTI which did not respond to one antibiotic so after that failed the  physician  loaded me with another dose of antibiotics, that is when I thought what does Andrew sell on HSN to help get me over the overdose of antibiotics to my body. Have taken them faithfully and will not be without them.

@Luvitorleaveit1  I've been taking probiotics every day for 12 years. I wouldn't be without them. To me, they're essential for gut health maintenance (not just for when you take an antibiotic). I use Megfoods Mega Flora Plus. I buy them online from VitaCost.com. They're worth every penny.

I'd rather eat probiotic foods rather than take probiotic supplements. Not everyone needs probiotic supplements.
