DH was put on a daily dose of 5mg. of Prednisone twice a day. This was started over a year ago and he was started on this because his transplanted kidney started showing a minimal early sign of rejection. Over the last month the arm he previously had dialysis in, has swollen horribly. He went to his PCP who did a CT scan and blood work - all of which were normal. So... he suggested he see the vascular surgeon who put in the graft as well as a fistula. That doctor retired so he saw a different one. The surgeon did not seemed alarmed or concerned. He said it sometimes happen. That was a week and a half ago. Over the past few days his foot has become very swollen. ??????? weird! He has an appt. with the kidney transplant doctor but not until the end of June. He's so frustrated he is going to call the transplant team and talk to the nurse to see if they can get him in their sooner.
BTW - he says he absolutely no pain but it looks awful and he and I are thinking it could be the Prednisone. His face looks like a squirrel storing nuts
Has anyone here had this experience with Prednisone?
