@Gracies MomI feel your pain!! I have 2 little Poms and they picked up a virus somewhere, where I have no idea as they only go to the grommers and the vets when needed. I had all three of them with diarrhea and spent all night washing rear ends and they all have long thick coats. Thanks to the Flagyl, antibiotics and diarrhea gel, it ended pretty quickly.

Arrabella..
WOW! That's weird how your fur babies had the same intestinal issue at the same time!!! I cannot imagine how you dealt with thier long thick coats through all that---and I thought dealing with Gracie when she got sick was tough--I feel your pain too!!
My vet also gave Gracie Flagyl and Amoxicillin (although she bit into the Amox capsule today and the antibiotic powder went all over the place--it's hard giving Gracie anything in a capsule). What is diarrhea gel? I never heard of it.
Maybe there's some sort of intestinal doggy virus making the rounds? I really think Gracie picked up what she has at the vet--she has not been anywhere else in weeks. Very strange.
I'm glad your babies are feeling better--so is Gracie--she still has days of pills left to take, on top of a steroid for her vestibular condition that she had earlier this week. My poor baby is such a trooper!!

@Gracies MomIn this house, when one of the girls gets something, they all get it!! They are getting up in years now, Lulu is going on 16 this year and takes thyroid meds and also an NSAID for severe arthritis in her spine.
Dolly will be 15, has a heart problem and takes Vetmedin, also GERD and takes Omeprazole.
Buffy is going on 12 and CHF and is also on Vetmedin, Lasix and Enalapril.
A portion of my kitchen counter looks like a pharmacy as some of the meds are in tablet form but all three have some meds that have to be compounded into a liquid because of their small size.
LuLu and Buffy will only eat Fresh Pet and gobble it up, the down side is that it is constipating for them and take NO Scoot as neither one will eat pumpkin. It's like I'm trying to give them poison!! LOL!!!
Can't remember what the name of the diarrhea gel. It coms in a long tube and can only give each dog 2 doses. It does work quite well.
I'll be the first to admit that our lives pretty much revolve around our girls as they really are a time consuming project. But we love them dearly and taking the time to keep them healthy is more than worth it for the love they give us.
In all the years we've had them, they have only had the diarrhea a couple of times. That's when I know I'll be up all night washing butts!!

Our girl Lola had vestibular disease. She recovered well with only a slight tilt to her head. Don’t give up hope, sounds as if Gracie is fighting hard. Sending all the Best to all of you!
