Hi @DowntonAbbey  I can't give you any medical advice except to say , follow Dr's orders, and I think you're already doing that. Heart

Thank you so much for the flowers and post.  I started getting sick in Houston when my son was sneezing and coughing and not covering his mouth and four days or 5 days later I  was sick and I could not get him to take me to urgent care until I was so sick.......they put me on an antibiotic and I probably had pnumonia then..........I am resting and wish I had a tv in the bedroom, I got rid of all my cable and only have hulu and some channel OV which I get free tv and see documentary's  and I enjoy that.  I guess sit is time to move to the sofa since it is 3:12 pm........

I'm so very sorry that you have it, @DowntonAbbey.

I've had pneumonia a couple of times.

It took awhile to go away, both times that I had it, if I recall correctly.

I also had a cough that lingered for awhile after the initial infection went away, so I felt rather weak for several weeks afterwards. It took me quite some time to feel like myself afterwards.

It sounds like you are doing everything that your doctor is telling you to do, so that's good.

Please also rest as much as you can, too, so that you can get well as soon as possible. Heart

@ID2  Sorry to tell you but you can still get pneumonia...I did.  There many different strains of pneumonia and the shots (2 now) don't protect you completely.

@Kachina624

Thank you for that, cause I was wondering... I've never got the pnuemonia shot, but I have gotten the flu shot and still gotten the flu at least 3 times now. I still get the dang shot, as the drs always say it would be worse if I hadn't got the shot. So, I'm afraid I might croak if I don't get it.....Woman Frustrated

@DowntonAbbey

Oh no, not another health challenge.  I've had pneumonia.  What worked for me was rest and medication.  I am not a good patient and I was up and about within a few days.

It is important to take all your medication then return to your doctor.

All that is needed to diagnose pneumonia is a simple chest x ray - they do not need or do CT scans to diagnose pneumonia. A first year med student can look at a chest x ray & diagnose pneumonia.

The OP said that the CT was performed for another reason and the pneumonia was discovered.
