Pneumonia....

I can't seem to win for losing. I was in the hospital diagnosed with pneumonia and worsening of my COPD. Dr put me on an antibiotic and prednisone 10mg in reduced amounts every three days for 18 days. I am on oxygen AS NEEDED.

What is the prednisone supposed to do for me? I failed to ask the doctor, I was too sick and wanted to come home.
