Just saw an advertisement for this.  Anyone ever heard or used them?

They put your pills together in an individual pack and send them to you.

Here:https://www.pillpack.com/get-started?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc_c&utm_campaign=PP_Brand_Exact&ut...

The pharmacy that sorts and delivers your medications.

Delivered to you each month

Your pills sorted by the dose

We supply common pharmacy items, like inhalers and insulin

It has on the dosage what time you are to take it.

I don't take many pills so it wouldn't be worth it to me.  Just wondering.  There are several variations of this even offered from Amazon.com

I’ve seen those ads, too.  I would be concerned about quality control and mistakes.

They were just purchased by Amazon.

That said, I wonder who will be responsible for their accuracy?

I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole. I am perfectly able to sort and take my meds.

If someone needs help with this, best to ask a friend or relative, not some company full who knows what kind of people handling the meds and who knows about the quality control.

There is some misinformation here... Smiley Happy

They're an online pharmacy - they take insurance and you have to provide prescriptions from your doctor. They merely incentivise organizing your meds for you - brilliant if you ask me. I would imagine that this is a tremendous help to people who aren't "perfectly able" to sort their own for a variety of reasons. I get lazy about putting our pills in those bulky plastic pill sorter contraptions and I sometimes forget medication when I neglect to sort them.

I'm thinking of giving them a try too - I would love for someone to share their experience here. I haven't compared prices or anything yet.

We use an online pharmacy from Canada (it's legal, folks) for my extremely expensive hormone patches. With insurance they are $95 per MONTH here in the States, outrageous, but we pay $75 for a THREE month supply from Canada. Exact same meds (which some of you will be tickled to know are manufactured in India, China and other foreign countries - check your brands and generics to find out) and great service, right to my mailbox. They do not, however, sort all my meds for me!

There's no reason to distrust an online pharmacy staff over your local pharmacy staff as far as making errors. Humans are humans. If anything, I would imagine this is safer because it's probably sorted by robotic machines.

The only downside I am seeing is I don't think you can't get your vitamins in the packs. I have to do more research on this though.

I think it's a great idea. They do have pharmacists involved. The only problem I see is if your doctor takes you off of a med you'd have to remember to take it out of each packet until the next round of refills.

And since I'm the one who has to actually go and do this for my parents right now it would be incredibly helpful to me. Smiley Happy

@LibbyLib It does say you can do vitamins and over the counter stuff.

Also it says if you have a dosage change on a med or a new med that gets added they will send you enough to get you to the end of your current pill pack.

Thank you for sharing the new info, @pigletsmom. Me and hubby need to read more and make a decision. It would be such a great help to folks like you who need to do this for a family member, so right. I really appreciate your reply! Smiley Happy

If you need assistance with your medications your pharmacy should be willing to fill your meds into those containers that are marked sat sun mon etc and there are ones available for multiple doses each day. If that isn't enough you should probably be living somewhere there are people available to assist you.

@151949 You must have a really non-busy pharmacy.

This just replaces having to use one of the containers yourself. There are people like my parents who are able to live just fine on their own but due to other factors in their lives some things become a little stressful. They are close to 80 and have had some extremely difficult things to deal with along the way. They do all sorts of things and go all sorts of places but yes my mother gets very stressed out about sorting pills. I think I'll let her stay home a little longer. After 45 with years MS I think a program like this might be helpful for her.
