I do not have the room nor do I want to spend the money on a pilates machine but I have seen 'portable' pilates equipment. It looks interesting...there is a long bar plus stirrups for your feet.
It LOOKS like something I might/would use and is not expensive. Has anyone had any experience with this equipment?

I don't have any information on that equipment but you can do pilates without equipment, you should be able to google pilates routines and just need a matt. I have done lots of classes and we never used equipment.

Marie Osmond and another vendor have sold something similar on QVC in the past. I purchased the one Marie sold. It's easy to use but consistency is my problem.
They weren't referred to as Pilates per second but for muscle toning.

I understand about the space and the money issues. Having seen your supplied photo of the " portable " stuff, I would like to mention the Walk at Home kit complete with great resistance looped bands for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 mile walks in the privacy of your home.
I have used them after I gave away my Pilates machine. The CD set with bands was sold by QVC a while ago. Leslie Sansone is the instructor/ coach. There is no floor work and option to use simple walking steps when something is too hard. She walks you through stretches so you don't overdo or do them wrong.
I am going on 79 and can do the 3-mile CD....I used to be able to do the 4-mile one-hour workout.
Very small investment. Can be done in limited space.
Good Luck with your choice.

I've used my CHAIR GYM for many years. It folds flat for storage but I keep mine out all the time b/c I use it daily. Works upper and lower body.

When I was considering getting Pilates-something, I looked at a lot of different equipment online and still wasn't sure what would work for me.
So .... I searched around for places that had Pilates classes. The classes were a tad pricey, but several had "introductory" one time classes. It was a reduced price pver the regular classes and obviously that had to show me enough different exercises on different equipment to make me want to sign up.
Well, it was worth every penny and then some. After I'd had that one on one experience with an instructor, I was better informed and able to make a decision with confidence.
I got the Aeropilates that Marjolen offers ... and am very glad I did. It was the right decision fo rme.
IMO ... even if you don't want the machine, actually doing some exercises with someone spotting you will make a big difference.
Hope this helps.

@Tinkrbl44 That machine is very nice....We would also have to move it upstairs in the the small spare...and I do mean small. I iron every day so that room has my ironing board set up permanently.

I've been doing wall Pilates videos on YouTube. No equipment needed and very effective. It's also kind of fun too!

This chair gym is what I have and I currently use it in different scenarios for physical therapy. I also have a rebounder that works out for a variety of movement with hardly any impact.
