I hope you get good news.  They give me my heart attacks on the mammograms which I almost did not go for again this year because it's not worth the scare after 3 years of it.

I really hope you get good news and good for you for taking care of yourself.  Waiting sucks!!

Yes I do.  I just pray and wait for "good" news.  Hoping all is well for you and everyone!

Re: Pap Test Results

Pap tests don't scare me but mammograms are another thing altogether. I have to ask my doctor for a Xanax before I go. A close friend had breast cancer and I took her for some of her appointments and treatments. I go every year for the mammogram at a university medical center. They give results right away but waiting for the radiologist to read the films is absolutely awful. I wish the OP good luck..and all the rest of us too!

Fingers crossed for you.  For some reason,  I never got anxious over pap test results.  I never gave them a thought.  Then I had to have a hysterectomy 2 years ago for a "highly suspicious of uterine cancer" mass and now, I don't have to go through that anymore.  I still go yearly and she checks my ovaries but I didn't realize how much I hated those paps until I don't have to have them anymore.

Mammograms freak me out.  It's not that they hurt, it's that I am scared they are going to find something.  I seriously make myself nauseated waiting for those results.  And it became even worse after my sister was diagnosed with BC.

All tests scare me. I had a mammogram last week postponed it since November because I didn't want bad news over the holidays. I got a letter yesterday I need further imaging. I just hate the unknown.

Yes, I have terrible "waiting" anxiety!  Always have even though I am very healthy.

I also had a hysterectomy several years ago and my dr, stilll does the pap.  That's why I get anxious because of the normal/abnormal results.   Tired of the whole thing and the colposcopy is a day out of work because of the cramping afterwards... Don't know when this will end.

@hockey mom  I'm so sorry.  I am fully convinced after three years of ultrasounds and second mammagrams that they just can't really see with current technology and put you and I through all of it just to CYA themselves for the legal department.

If you can't see, you can't see.  Stop scaring people and wait until the technology gets better or have the insurers be mandated to pay for the better test if we're a candidate for it.

@hondagirl  Did your doctor ever do the HPV test for you?  According to my doctor, if you test negative, they are fairly confident you won't get cervical cancer because that's where 90 plus percent of it comes from.  Also, she said cervical cancer is extremely slow growing so, even if you do get it later in life, you'll probably die of something else first.
