Good afternoon LA Trainer....I hope you don't mind me paging you.....you were so helpful on my other thread that I am hoping you won't mind offering some guidance to me?

Background - I hit my high weight of 143 in Feb, joined myfitnesspal.com and added my Jillian DVDs to my routine, I was already doing Curves. I set my goal loss to 1 pound per week and lost that at least each week. Hit goal of 125 in late May, started upping my calories to maintenance, lost an additional 7 pounds, so got down to 118 by late July. I've hovered between 118 and 120 since then. I weigh every day now that I am trying to maintain and recognize the daily fluctuations as normal. One day its 118, then 119 then 118, then 120 then back to 119, etc. No worries on my part with that. I don't want to go over 120 but I am OK with these fluctuations. My goal calories for maintenance, according to mfp is about 1500. I'm still at 1400 but happy with where my weight has been so I haven't upped it to the 1500 yet. Also, mfp has you eat back your exercise calories, which gets added to the 1400 I am allowed.

As my previous thread indicated, I joined a "regular" gym a few weeks ago. I've gone every weekday the last 2 weeks. The weight training is a lot more than I did at Curves or even with the DVDs. The workouts are harder, I sweat more, and generally feel wonderful about it all. EXCEPT.........I've been weighing 120 for the last week or so. No fluctuations back to 118 or 119, just something that always rounds to 120, each day.

I've heard the whole muscle weighs more than fat thing (i.e. a "piece" of muscle ways more than a "piece" of fat of the same size). But is it really possible that I've already gained enough muscle to put on 2 pounds? Also, when I was losing the weight I never really got hungry. I spread my calories over the course of the day and never felt overly hungry. Now it seems I am starving all the time. Am I working hard enough that I need to up my calories? I'm leery of doing that because of the 2 pound gain. I feel pretty great about the new workouts, and would be happy to stay at the 120. What scares the bejezus out of me is that this is the start of gaining back my lost weight.

I should add, I did ask at my new gym about this. The girl who signed me up has been very helpful about how to use the machines and other fitness questions in general. But when I asked about this she said she is not a personal trainer or nutritionist. She told me to talk to the other girl on Tueday, which I plan to do. But I thought I would ask for your opinion as well.

Any advice you have would be so much appreciated.
