I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday. Felt really good, even my back was better that usual as I had taken a healthy dose of pain medication. After my appointment, I decided I felt well enough to drop by TJ Maxx for a short visit. By the time I parked, walked to the jewelry department and browsed, I did quite a bit of walking. By the way, I found a wonderful Barbara Bixby necklace....brown pearls with an enhancer key for $79.

This morning a I awoke with the most awful pain. My thigh from the knee all the way up felt like it had a blowtorch on it. It didn't go away so I called my doctor and talked to his PA. She said I undoubtedly overdid it yesterday and prescribed a muscle relaxant. I'm now sitting with an ice pack.

Moral to my story....don't be tempted to fly too much too soon, even if you really feel like you can. It's not even worth a Bixby necklace.

How is life with Molly going? Luckily my four dogs have a large fenced yard and dog door so all I have to do is feed them, they take themselves outside.

Docsgirl, I hope you read this too. I'm so glad to hear that you are doing well. Too bad you can't tolerate a stronger pain med. I knew you'd do fine but anytime you have surgery it's worrisome. Wasn't the nursing home experience a trip? Made me remind myself that I'd never want to live in one permently.
