Today, Good Morning America spotlighted a FB group called,
”Missing Chins Run Club”.
Goggle ‘abc news josh lajaunie” for the amazing video!
Here are a couple who are on my McDougall FB page.
Each of these men have lost hundreds of pounds,
reversed illnesses, eliminated medication...all with the
foundation of a plant-based diet.
A private Facebook group has helped its members lose a collective 4,000 pounds by offering tips, encouragement and community for men hoping to shed excess weight when they don't know where to start.
Joshua LaJaunie, a self-described country boy from Louisiana, said he founded the "Missing Chins Run Club," on Facebook to give "beer-drinking, back-slapping men an avenue to health and happiness."
LaJaunie said he decided to turn his life around after he weighed in at 420 pounds, and he started by just walking on a treadmill. Eventually, he started running, and has since lost 230 pounds.
"Compared to where I was, I'm an Olympian," LaJaunie told ABC News.
The private group, which now has more than 80 members who have lost over 4,000 pounds collectively, gives men a platform to share their weight loss journeys and cheer each other on.
"I didn’t realize it was going to be so big in the beginning but I really had aspirations that we would be able to reach out," Lajaunie said today on "Good Morning America." "I had been inspired throughout my journey and I felt it important to pay it forward to the universe and to do that for other guys."
He added, "To see what has come of it is just amazing."
"Whenever I don’t feel like getting up in the morning or running, I see somebody else post they ran four miles, I’ve to go run six," Cohen said. "If they’ve run six, I’ve got to run eight."
"It keeps me motivated to get up every day, lace up my shoes and just get out there."
The 'Missing Chins Run Club' founder's top-3 weight loss tips:
1. Understand the concept of "calorie density" in food
"If you're looking to lose weight and you're trying to get started, it would really serve you well to understand ... the subject of 'calorie density,'" LaJaunie told ABC News of his top tip for weight loss.
LaJaunie described calorie density as understanding that the same volume of two different types of food can have a vastly different number of calories. He cited the example of eating a bowl full of green leafy vegetables versus filling the same sized bowl with fried chicken, saying the latter may contain "about three or four times the amount of calories, in that same volume of food."
"Understand how to still eat big meals, and enjoy yourself and be full, but at the same time you won't be overconsuming, and your body won’t need to store excess calories or body fat," LaJaunie said.
2. Start moving, any way you know how
LaJaunie's second tip is to just go outside and get moving, even if it is just walking at first.
"There is no need to join a gym," LaJaunie said. "You can just go outside, and lace up, and move yourself with your legs. You don’t have to run but ... move your body."
"Do it with some purpose and do it on purpose," he added. "What we’re doing, more so than anything, is building muscle memory, and habits."
3. Find a community
Finally, LaJaunie emphasized the importance of support from others when you first embark on your weight loss journey.
"Go public with your goals, try to find a group to get with on social media, really build some community around these new habits," LaJaunie said.
"Think about how important your community is to your identity," he added, saying social media is a great place to find others who can hold you accountable and encourage you to reach or maintain your health goals.

Jason Cohen has been interviewing so many success stories
for a new film coming out called ‘The Big Change’.
All interviews are on YouTube under the channel w/ the same name.
Many of these people are my online friends who I have
referenced in several of my posts on this forum. They all have
the same story...reversing many of the modern day illnesses
like heart disease, diabetes, obesity...and a huge smile on their faces!

I think I saw one of the ladies in an interview that you had mentioned awhile back who was one of the featured success stories in "The Big Change". She was so cute and so happy about how WFPB living had changed her life.
I have to go look as some more of those interviews!

I just watched a short bit with Milan Ross who I've seen speak about his crazy huge transformation and see he's also fatured in The Big Change.
I really want to watch "Eating You Alive", having not seen it yet, but can't figure out how to access it.
Help?

Girl! You sent me on a witch hunt!
i looked e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e.....even threw out some FB/Instagram/Twitter
feelers...only to find out this:
ETA: their YouTube channel is filled with tons of 1-2 minute snippets.
I jokingly said, if you mush all these snippets together, that would
be the movie. Ha. I did notice they have an added extended trailer
on their website. I saw the movie last Fall when it was an open viewing
to get the word out...but everything has been shut down for
new releases ‘coming soon!’ It’s not as good as FOK or WTH,
but still worth waiting for.
BUT...in the course of poking around, I found these
cute tights & shirts on the eatingyoualive.com website
Hummmmm....maybe???

Hey, GF, thanks for looking so hard! I'll see it one of these days. Hey, I haven't even seen FOK or WTH in their entirety yet. Segments, yes.
I LOVE the clothing! I would totally wear those leggings in the gym. You never know who's watching when you're walking away ![]()
AND I would love to wear one of those shirts while training clients. People always want to know what I eat. ![]()

@QueenDanceALotEating You Alive is supposed to be re-released in theaters sometime soon, and available on Netflix after the first of the year. That's the last I have heard about it.
I put off seeing it when it was released, then this summer decided to watch it and it was gone! Couldn't rent or buy it all of a sudden, because of the re-release.
I hope it is available soon.
