I'm getting ready to take my mother to the orthopedist today at 1pm.  Two weeks ago, she had a bad fall and while trying to break her fall, she hurt her wrist really badly.

I took her to her regular nurse practitioner the next day and they put a wrist brace on her.  I'm really hoping they don't want to do surgery.  Please wish her well and if you pray, for a good report today.❤️

The nurse practitioner allowed me to take a picture of the X-ray from her cell phone.  I can't really tell much about it.  She pointed to a tiny splinter on the left that may indicate it's broken, but she wasn't sure.

@cheriere --glad you are taking her to see about it. I did the same thing with my wrist--fell on ice and , of course, put my hand out to break my fall and broke my wrist!!! I did have surgery--that was in 2017. Sending my best to you and her.

Thank you so much. ❤️

She's really had a rough go of it lately, falling a lot.

@cheriere I hope she doesn't need surgery, maybe just a cast. Best wishes to her, please let us know how she makes out Heart

Thank you.  I really appreciate it.❤️

I'm so sorry you did the same thing.  She already had arthritis, so I'm hoping this doesn't make it a lot worse too.  Since the swelling has went down, she's able to move all of her fingers now.  I'm hoping this is a good sign.  She's been in a tremendous amount of pain and the Dr only gave her 12 pain pills to make it this long.  I feel terrible for her.

I'm really hoping that a cast is all she needs too.  The nurse practitioner talked to me about the noticeable difference she's seen in her over the past three years.  She used to go to the gym, full of energy and not depressed.  Now, she's taken to her recliner, watching Netflix all day everyday.  She said the reason she's falling is because her lack of walking and using her muscles.  Thank you for wishing her well.❤️

Re: ORTHOPEDIC VISIT FOR MOM

@cheriere ---We old people Woman Wink just need to STOP FALLING DOWN!!!!  I keep telling myself that--we don't bounce like we used to. Yes, the pain was not fun --I didn't get a cast but a soft splint--- had a plate and screws to hold everything in place and went to p/t for a few weeks. But it healed nicely and is back to normal, more or less--keep us posted
