Thank you @violann. Do you still have your thyroid? If so, I'm curious why they didn't remove it.

Unfortunately NickNack, I was being cared for by "the best thyroid specialist in town" who was a horrible doctor and a nasty person.
He never explained anything to me, did inappropriate and unnecessary exams, and used radioactive iodine maybe not enough or too much, and I never found out why.
I still have what my current, compassionate, competent doctor calls "a teeny partial gland" on one side of my throat and a complete gland on the other.
I take Armour and do fine with it, but it does have to be adjusted from time to time.
I hope by now you have the information that you need.

I'm sorry you had a doctor you didn't like @violann. It's terrible when things aren't explained thoroughly to you, especially if you don't like or trust your doctor.
I had my ultrasound today, and the person who did it wouldn't tell me anything. I know they're not supposed to, but I was hoping she would anyway. She said it could be a week before I hear from my doctor. I'm hoping I'll hear by Friday though.

Had most of my thyroid removed when I was 39, and just within the last ( age 54, now 55) year my doctor noticed something when I swallowed, except this time it was much higher, like my mid neck, he said it was scar tissue, then when I went 6 months later to another dr in the practice he said it was a gland that can get enlarged due to dental issues, which I did have, none of them said to get imaging. I look at it everyday and it has stayed the same size.

Please keep us apprised of your progress. I had thyroid cancer in 2008, after having had countless sinus CT scans and two sinus surgeries. I see my ENT surgeon next month for a check-up and hope there will be no surprises uncovered.

I just wanted to post an update. I heard from my doctor, and my nodules are nothing suspicious. I was relieved!

That's great Nicknack, just curious where are yours and how did they check them. You don't have any of your thyroid left?

@dsky I had my thyroid removed in 2005. At the time, I thought he removed the nodule only. Then years later I think another doctor told me that he removed the whole thyroid. This time they did a thyroid ultrasound, and told me there was a little bit of my thyroid left. That's where the nodules were. I feel ridiculous not remembering what the surgeon originally told me. I usually write everything down but hadn't made notes on this.
