Re: New Weight Watchers Program - Question

[ Edited ]

Hi, @Tissyanne.  Well I can't say I did Smart Points this week because I wanted to get a calculator first.  I went to an extra meeting this past Monday to buy one.  But since I had started with what I know, which was Points Plus, I kept doing it this week.  I did my first weigh in this morning and I'm down 5.2 lbs.  I'm very happy with myself although I know it was mostly water.  It was the most I've ever lost on my first week.  Twenty-five to go.

What I've noticed is that things seem to be one point more converted from Points Plus to Smart Points.

Re: New Weight Watchers Program - Question

Hi @Mmsfoxxie,  Congratulations! It feels great to see a good weight loss, right? I went to my meeting today. Down 2.4 for a total of 28.8 now. Today was my 12th week.

On the SP versus PP, the difference in points depends on the type of food. Lean proteins actually dropped in points. Also, with SP the lowest is 30 per day. Your weekly SP are calculated according to your individual self.

I am thrilled with the new program, and lots of people at our meeting are also. We have had record numbers coming to the meetings.

Again, Great job, and you can do this.

Re: New Weight Watchers Program - Question

Thanks, @Tissyanne.  I'm in it to win it, lol.  If I had started when you did, I might be done.  (Actually, you're never done when it comes to healthy eating).  My main goal is to be down 25 lbs. by June 25th, vacation time.

Re: New Weight Watchers Program - Question

I just wanted to update:  Keep in mind I'm a slow loser, but I have 16 pounds off with WW.  Yay!  I started Dec. 8th.

I have never went over daily/weekly points yet.  I've lost every week except one week and I stayed the same that one week.

Although I'm a slow loser, I'm losing faster than my friend and she hasn't cheated once.  She even had a .2 gain one week.  I told her I could spit that much.  LOL  Everyone is different I guess.

Love the program.  I'm still not buying bananas though.

Re: New Weight Watchers Program - Question

@mima, I don't trust bananas a lot either, lol.  But I use 1/2 banana almost every day in my protein shake that I have for lunch.  They're starchy and I don't trust starchy foods.  I'm well familiar with that .2 lb loss.  It's hard to appreciate, lol.  Just remember DOWN IS DOWN.

Re: New Weight Watchers Program - Question

I wanted to add that I only use a few of the weekly points. I know they are suppose to be built into the program, and I use an average of 8 a week. If I used them all I would be losing much slower. I allow those as a safety net for any errors in tracking that I may have done. Example, I eat Smartfood Delight White Cheddar popcorn quite often in the late evenings. 3 1/2 cups is 4 SP. I round my cups to "brimming over." Lol.

Congrats to all who are using WW with success.

[ Edited ]

WW has 3 new organic rice mixtures that are for the microwave. I bought the Rice and Lentils. I stir fried diced celery and sweet onions along with shredded carrots in Pam Butter just until crisp. Microwave the pouch 90 seconds, and combine. Add a little reduced sodium soy sauce if desired. This makes a wonderful side dish to almost anything. The rice and lentils are 6 SP. The other ingredients are 0 as long as you don't add a whole lot of soy sauce. Otherwise it is 0 on the tracker.

These are for sale at the meeting locations, and not stores. There are 3 pouches to a box.

Re: New Weight Watchers Program - Question

@Tissyanne, I feel the same way about weekly points.  I keep those for cream in my coffee and other incidentals.  I saw the rice products Sunday and wondered how they tasted.  I'll have to try them later.  Right now, I'm keeping with protein and zero points veggies.  Popcorn is for when I know I'm strong, lol.

@Mmsfoxxie, Yes, I think we have got this figured out. Smiley Happy You will get to that popcorn, but I tend to stick with protein and zero points veggies most of the time too. I love mexican food so once a week I heat 1/2 cup no fat refried beans, dice a tomato, shred lettuce, a small can of whole green chiles, and 20 tortilla chips. 12 points, and a good dinner. Enjoy your week.

Re: New Weight Watchers Program - Question

Are no fat beans restricted on this diet to once a week?
