Oh brother.  An old filling has cracked on the very back molar up top and I need a crown.

Yes, I am fortunate to be in the hands of a capable dentist but oh boy, I do not look forward to the bulldozer rummaging around close to the nerve.  My mouth is small and there is usually a prop to hold it open enough so he can work back there,  Ouch.  Maybe it will stretch some of the fine lines and wrinkles out.

Lordy Lordy  LOL   Get this.  I bought this extra crunchy cereal the week of the 4th.  So on the 4th I opened it and was eating it dry for a snack.  I thought man this is really crunchy.  After I swallowed I slipped my tongue over there and UGH  I was eating half of my tooth.   I got so sick when I realized I ate half my tooth.  LOLOLOL  I had a root canal and a crown.  By the way, I threw the cereal away.

Oh, @BalletBabe , I feel your pain!  How horrible!

I remember chewing a gumball (really never a good idea) and pulling out a filling.  It was disgusting.

As a child, I remember my Mom swallowing a gold crown.  I'm not sure she ever found it but she sure tried (buckets were employed).  That kind of money we did not have!

Off to the dentist soon.  Let the torture commence and let's get this thing over with.

Have a good day everybody.  Thanks for weighing in.

@HB glamma ouch is right!

I need a root canal now.  Tomorrow is the day.  After 4 rounds of numbing I finally was able to handle the drill so tomorrow should be a piece of cake.  I can be a bit more stoic, I think.  I just need numbing!

We are very lucky to have dental insurance though the out-of-pocket is still up there.

I had no pain with mine.   I am one of the strange ones that don't mind going to the Dentist.  I mean don't get me wrong, I would rather be at Disney, but if I need something done, It doon't bother me.  Good Luck and I hope it isn't too bad for you!

@Sweetbay magnolia   I am not sure if you had a root canal lately, but everything is computerized now.  It is much faster of a procedure.  My appointment was at 11:30 and it was a half hour drive for me and I was home by 1:00.  Hope that helps.  Good Luck.

Thanks for that, @BalletBabe !  Tomorrow 10:40 EST I go for the root canal.  I see where they might be able to pinpoint things better with technology so hopefully this is clean and mean (I mean lean).

Every time my dentist and his hygienist tell me my mouth is very small and difficult to work in, I ask them to put that in writing.My DH always says I have a big mouth....not!

The worst part about getting a crown is the price.
