I have been in the Intensive care unit for a week, I had a carotid artery bleed-out and 2 strokes which have left me impaired. I almost died twice. I am typing this with one hand  as I have lost the ability to type with my left hand.  Much threapy ahead. A lot of changes for sure. I will need both physical and cognitive therapy.

@jubilant

My cousin's husband had a dual procedure done last Fall at one of the best hospitals.  The carotid one caused a stroke and was immediately followed by a heart bypass.

The stroke episode led to all types of therapy: physical, occupational ( he is retired ), swallowing and speech.  He, like a recently elected US Senator who stroked, is being treated for depression which is common after a stroke.

He is now doing more than he ever has done around the house; drives himself to PT; and, is looking forward to golfing as his left arm continues to improve.  It is amazing.

I share this with you because there is hope for a future: the road takes commitment and is sometimes hard.  However, it is your choice.  There are folks here, myself included, who support you with our prayers and posts.

Let us know how you are making progress....🦋💐🥇
