Part III - the Big Nov. 2 Fall

1.  I fell Nov. 2 - hospital for three days. (details elsewhere)

2.  Monday before Thanksgiving  -  developed sciatica (confirmed diag) (details elsewhere)

3.

  • Saw Osteopath today. (8:30 am appt!)  He reviewed hospital reports / x-rays / ct scan / checked various physical responses.  Discussed various questions he had and I had.  Said that result of fall is not uncommon - particularly among older women.  Can take up to six months for complete recovery.  (Almost 2 months .... 4 to go!)
  • He ordered some prescription strength back rub stuff .... should be delivered on Monday.

  • Prescription for physical therapy 2 times a week for 6 weeks..  I stopped at PT office on way home and they were able to take me this morning for my first session.  Different place than prior two PT.  Female therapists.  Friendly staff.  Busy practice.  Only two blocks from my apt.

  • Session was good ... followed by fantastic massage and 15 minute heat treatment.  Prior PT place ... session ended with a brief (2 minute) hot pad.  Back tomorrow for second session this week. Got some exercises to do at home.

Mornngs are my worst, pain-wise.  Feeling pretty good now .... we'll see what tomorrow morning brings.

So far, so good.

A few years ago I sprained my pelvis....the pain was something else!  and it was several months before I could wear long pants.  I swear my belly button was on my side.....I was really twisted!

I hope you feel better soon, I remember those wonderful hot packs on my back, they felt so good.

@ALRATIBA, I am sorry to hear about what you are going through.  I have had PT for back issues, and it is ultimately very helpful.  I wish you the very best and also hope you have a good Merry Christmas.  Take care.  Pam

ALRATIBA, I can sympathize with you when it comes to sciatica pain.  I have been living with it for so many years I've forgotten just how long.  Seriously though, sciatica pain is something I wouldn't wish on anyone.  Glad to hear you are being treated for it and if all goes according to plan that your pain will be gone, for good very soon.  Enjoy the Holiday Season.
