And I admit I have become a little nervous. I watched my brother's surgery and was fascinated, but now it's MY eye !! LOL. What scares me is that I will sneeze right at the critical time. OMG !! My other eye will be done in about four weeks if I get through this one.

My 80 year old dad had great results and the procedure was NO SWEAT. Don't worry, it will be fine. 🙂

Wishing you a speedy recovery, I know it won't help, but try not to worry.

I'm using black font just for you @pattypeep. Ironic you should mention cataract surgery. I had an opthamologist appt this last Monday and my doctor said my glaucoma pressure was good but the cataracts were getting worse and surgery was in the near future. That explains why my night vision is getting worse, I guess.
I'm amazed that you could watch your brother get it done....I don't think that I could have.
Your nervousness is understandable, though. Please let us know how much better your vision is after your procedure. Good luck!

I could never stand someone coming near my eyes. I'm 76 yrs young and my eye doctor told me 3 yrs ago that most people will get cataracts. Hopefully, I'm the exception. They'll have to knock me out. Good luck with ur surgery.

@pattypeepI think a bit of nervousness is retty normal. After all, you are marching into something unknown to you. The good thing is you'll be in the hands of professionals who have probably done many of this procedure.
I had one eye done about 12 years ago - maybe the worst part was the scrubbing I had to do to remove the ink markers the prep nurses used to make certain the doctor worked on the correct eye -- and I understand the operation has become evern easier in the years since I had it.
I wish you an easy time tomorrow and better vision by the next day, too. I loved how much more colorful my whole world became!

Good luck, I'm sure everything will be fine. And, you will be so happy you had it done.

I just had my left eye done today!! I'm wearing see through patch with holes in it, but my eye is very blurry, so I'm using reading glasses. They will give you an IV with anesthesia as well a a light pain med (Fentanyl). I was in the room for half an hour and it seemed like 5 minutes. No worries about sneezing. They played 70's music in the background and I could hear them talking. They want you a little awake if they need to ask a question. I said a few times my eye was burning. The worse is using the eye drops for 4 weeks. My husband just had both his done (custom lens) and he had to use them for 6 weeks. Tomorrow am is my post-op, then I see the eye dr. in 3 weeks. Must also wear sunglasses.
