Re: Most Unusual Doctor Appointment

@Zhills  @Sage04  I wasn't told which kind of aspirin either but thanks for reminding me of it! I do have a touchy stomach sometimes.

@jubilant

Glad to hear you received happy news!

Regarding the aspirin, could you take it with some yogurt or with a meal so it wouldn't upset your stomach?

My friend has to take aspirin and it upsets her stomach if her stomach is empty so she takes it right after she's eaten.

Take care.

@DottieBlue  Yes, I have to take most medications with food. Recently it has been with yogurt which I find is working pretty good for me, too!

Monday I experienced something I've never had happen before. I'm taking it as good news! My hematologist says my blood tests show no reason for what has happened in my liver (hepatic infarct). The good thing is the clots have not affected the blood flow in my liver so what we do now she said is make up a plan as we go. She explained that it is so unusual and to be honest she will be "guessing" at what to do because there really is no set plan to follow.

  For now it will be to take the last 10 days of Eliquis, then the day after that is finished start on a 350 mg aspirin once a day. If that bothers my stomach, I am to go back on one baby aspirin a day like I was before. That's it! It's taken a lot of tests to come to this conclusion but I'll take it! They are finding, I guess, that aspirin works just as well, (if not better) than some of these blood thinners which, according to my blood tests, I really don't need but as a precaution, I will be taking..Ha!

Thanks everyone for your support and prayers. It was a real comfort to me.

@jubilant   If you take the aspirin with food in your stomach, and the aspirin is coated for stomach protection,, you shouldn't have any problem.

@mousiegirl  I'm hoping it will work.  Baby Aspirin never has affected me but I do have a sensitive stomach that requires Pepcid every day so I am concerned about a 350 mg. tablet. I have had 3 ulcers following surgeries and don't want anymore so I really appreciate your and others advice.

Re: Most Unusual Doctor Appointment

@hckynutjohn   Hi John. Hope this finds you and Cindy and your furry family all doing well. Haven't seen you posting and hope everything is ok with you both.

I have a new cardiologist I will see this Fall and only 9 minutes from my home!  That will be a blessing for me as I (or DH) will not have to drive in heavy traffic  to see him.  It's a very easy drive.

Sending prayers  for you and Cindy, my friend.
