NickNack. Mine was on the middle of my back and itched really bad. I got the eliptical cut from the first appointment and then had to have a even larger one when it came back bad. That was in 1991. I have had basel cell a few times since and pre cancers that looked like normal moles but just started growing fast and were bigger than a pencil eraser.
I have had many crusty types removed but they have all come back normal. I hope you keep this thread going. I want to know how you're doing. Love ya , EZZY

@esmeraldagooch It's good to know your crusty moles came back normal. My squamous cell was itchy, too. I will float this post to the top of my page and come back after my doctor's appt. and when I get the results.

My hubby had one in the middle of his back that the family Dr didn't seem to be concerned with, so I made him go to a Dermotologist and it turns out it was a wart and she froze it. I didn't know warts could be that dark....

I had one on my neck . It got crusty and fell off , no bleeding . It left a red scaly spot thet atarted to enlarge so I had it biopsied , And yes it was basil cell cancer , I had it removed by the Mohs procedure and all was well . It was not the more serious melanoma .

@NickNackwrote:I've had a mole on my stomach for as long as I can remember. About six months ago it started turning crusty. I didn't give it a lot of thought but recently it's been bothering me. I Googled it, and it said to see your dermatologist if you had a mole that had turned crusty and it could be malignant.
I made an appt. for March 7. Has anyone had anything like this? What was the outcome? I've never even heard of it. I wish I had called the doctor sooner.
I found a spot on my lower back. It was hard to see but it felt dry, crusty to touch. I took pictures of it with my phone and I thought it looked bad. I went to the dermatologist and he said it was a mole, a nevus. I had more on my back, smaller ones too. I had them removed, but not "burned off." He numbed the area just a little bit and "shaved" them all off. I had other moles burned off by a different doctor in a different state and once it didn't come off all the way. It's all about the pressure and how long he leaves it on when doing it that way. I thought, for me, the scraping this doctor recommended was better for me. The best thing to do is see your doctor, I'm glad you've already made an appointment.

@ScrapHappy I've had moles burned off, too. The last time I had one removed she shaved it. I thought that was much smoother and preferred having it done that way. I'm glad your mole was benign.
