My sister swears by it.  I took it for my hip and knee, nothing.  I might as well have swallowed a tic-Tac.

Meloxicam is classified as an NSAID and so is ibuprophen. They share similarities in how they ameliorate pain and in how they are metabolized in the body.

Just heard of Meloxicam use for arthritic pain or joint pain.  Is it simply a high dose ibuprofin?

The efficacy of meloxicam is dose dependent. Low doses was not always effective in the study released by the manufacturer. Here are the clinical findings.

@qvcaddition  We also give Meloxicam to our elderly goats that have arthritis.  I disolve the tabs in Pedialite and give orally with a special goat syringe.

Meloxicam is also for inflammation..I take it.  After teaching, I worked for Dillards as a stylist and was also over an area.  I carried more than my spine was used to and developed a really bad sciatic nerve problem where I could hardly walk.  I went to the chiropractor and I ended up more inflamed and so hard, I could hardly get up from sitting.

Meloxicam and a cold gel belt from amazon has given my life back.  My tall MD also takes it.

Fr. google:

Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug(NSAID). Meloxicam works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Meloxicam is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by osteoarthritis orrheumatoid arthritis in adults

Some things work better on some pains than others.

Mobic/Meloxicam works great on my knee.

Motrin 800 works great on my neck spasms.

Meloxicam and Naproxen do nothing for my neck spasms.

Aleve does nothing for me, no matter how many I take.  The OTC does not have the equivalent sodium ratio, so that's why it doesn't work.
