well qvc friends,I was around snarty,snotty coughing kids thanksgiving day.guess what?my chest feels heavy,I have a tickle in my throat,and feel like yuck.i now am on my own paying for prescriptions,so I'm hoping I can dr myself.i have vicks on my chest which always helps and have day and nighttime cough syrup on hand.please,any suggestions will be appreciated

@Luvsmyfam Oh I'm so sorry! It sounds dreadful and a shame you had to be around awful kids. I always like Vicks, it helps and is so soothing. Be sure to drink plenty of water so you stay hydrated and of course rest as much as you can.

Soup is a big help. I'm sure you'll get some good advice here. Rest and take care.

I'm concerned you say your chest feels heavy. If you begin having a temperature, congestion in your lungs, and shortness of breath, see a doctor pronto.

Thank-you all for responding.yes,I am taking all advice.i stink to vicks,but who cares.i have chicken noodle soup on hand,and I will drink plenty of water.what is everyone's opinion of cold and flu over the counter meds?

Yes.  They have a few different versions.  You can google it and read all about it.  Available at any drug store, walmart, target, etc.

Nasal rinsing with saline packets, either using a neti pot or Neilmed bottle.  Make sure you use distilled water or boil your own and cool it down. This process is great for getting the crud and germs out of your sinuses. It's good for you even when you aren't sick.
