I have reached out to my insurance agent but wondered if anyone thinks that a $40.00 month increase for my Medicare supplement seems like a lot?

My agent reminds me every year that I can look around for another company but I never felt the need until this year.

I have Atena, 'G' plan...I understand the incease is zipcode related and I will be 70 in July...just curious.

Our Medicare supplement is our previous main insurance as a retired Federal we are able to keep it as a secondary. It is worth its weight in gold since my immune treatments cost over 20,000 per month

I would look at the percentage of the increase not just the amount and decide on that basis whether it was a lot or not.

Our United Health Care just went up about the same as yours.

@Mom2Dogs      Yes I think a $40 increase per month is a lot.  Mine went up around $20 this year and if it increases again I will be looking around for a different supplemental.

Mine went up about $25 for this year. Have been pretty happy with it but when the time comes, I will shop and compare.

Medicare Specialist Abt insurance agency. She does a very good job of explaining medicare and advantage plans in a clear way. Even if you already have an insurance agent, it would be helpful to watch her so you understand everything when you talk to your agent.

I don't know anything about the cost of medicare supplement plans. My husbands employer offered a premium ppo advantage plan. I had my concerns about going on an advantage plan, but my husband thought it was the best move considering how our advantage plan cover a lot.

My AARP through UHC went up $32 per month. They sent a notice for increase several weeks ago. My agent said increases are expected to be 10-40% due to inflationary pressures. 

Everything just goes up and up!

I won't see my increase for a few months yet, but I just heard a senator say    healthcare costs could increase by $900. next year.   For everybody's sake, I hope he's wrong.  Selfishly I'm thinking that increase might be for family plans.  

So very many businesses in this area of SE Florida cater to the very wealthy, especially doctors but also retail and restaurants.

@Mom2Dogs  You have a great plan. I have Medicare Supplement Plan N United HealthCare. Ours went up about $30.00 a month. Your plan is better than ours, as we have co-payments for doctor visits. I think all of the so called Medigap plans went up.
