Wow I could have written your post! Just yesterday I called my dr to find out what the "important medical information"was that I got three texts about from the portal they use that I have NEVER been able to access. After finally changing every single password, username possibilities, etc I finally got it....only to see there was no info and nothing but my name and age. I already know those things. I have told them repeatedly I can't and don't wish to access the portal to no avail.

I totally understand your frustration. I have had three doctors retire within the past two years. The shortage seems to be critical.

I'm not sure I could say it with enough conviction - or a straight face - since even the low tech oldies have a cell phone or an old computer.

Everyone uses something.

I can't imagine how refusing to engage with technology improves your patient experience.

I've been using My Chart for about four years. It's a great way to contact my doctors without playing phone tag. I send her a message and she responds quicker than a phone call.

And I can check in for my appointment on the app instead of waiting in a long line at the reception desk.

 My Chart will show all upcoming appointments because sometimes I forget to put a reminder on my calendar.

In my experience, I prefer to see a PA
than a MD . I've been with her for 30 + years ! She doesn't rush me ,answers all my questions....most of all listens to my concerns .Just my two cents .😀
