@qualitygal wrote:@jubilant There must be something in that your body can't handle. Read something the other day that the senior one was stronger. But each body is different. There's just some stuff that we can't handle, no matter what.
Can't remember when flu shots started, or if I got flu before the shots began. I've had the flu, but can't remember these other two things.
@qualitygal I think you are right. Lately, since my strokes and arterial bleed outs I seem to be more sensitive. For example, I am finally getting over a stye of all things!!! I have dealt with this stye for 5 weeks now. I am 73 and this is the first stye I have ever had in my life and it has been so annoying.
I had no reaction to my Covid shot...not even a sore spot on my arm. I hear there are no preservtives in the Covid shot but there are in the flu shot. I do know that I am allergic to Thermisol but don't remember that being mentioned to me or seeing it on the paper I filled out.
It's hard to tell. I have so many other things that have been affected in my body since all these things have happened...and really not sure what to chalk it up to. Possibly, I think, maybe these strokes have lowered my resistance. My first stroke was in July and the proper name for that one is Hepatic Infarct which my neurologist calls a "liver stroke" so maybe that has something to do with it???? The doctors know very little about that one. Honestly, I have given up trying to figure it out. If my doctors can't, (and they can't)...I guess, to some degree my new song I sing will have to be "Que Sera Sera" Whatever will be will be!

@jubilant I looked up Hepatic Infarct. Wow, I am so sorry you are dealing with this. You are right, little is known about this or the cause. Are you being treated with anything? If I may ask, what were your symptoms?
I can understand if you care not to share, but know that I wish only the best for you. I pray that your days ahead will be healthier.

@tends2dogs They sent me to a hematologist. She said anything she did would be experimental so she put me on eloquis with aspirin and nothing was a sure thing..."no right...no wrong" were her exact words...because it is so rare. They did do tests to check the blood flow through my liver and said it was ok. She put me on the meds for 1 month and I had no more attacks. After the 30 days I started having tia's which sent me to the hospital finding that I needed carotid artery surgery. There was a surgical accident and I ended up have an arterial bleed which led to 2 units of blood and another stroke. I again started bleeding out and I don't remember what I needed after that. I was in ICU for a week. Nothing has shown that it had anything to do with the liver. I am now on Brilinta (blood thinner) with aspirin.
Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate your prayers more than you can know. I am a big believer in prayer.
I just realized you asked for the symtoms...when I went to emergency room...pain, nausea, right upper quadrant, digestive problems

Wow, @jubilant , your symptoms could have been many different things. My first thought would have been gall bladder or pancreatitis. It sounds as if you have a doctor that is at least trying instead of saying "we can't help you". That in itself is a blessing now a days. We have to look for our blessings wherever they may be.
I, too, believe in the power of prayer. You are in mine.
Take care ~
