Hi everyone! I am new to this thread. I need somethiing to kick my butt as I am recovering from a foot injury. I am envious of P. Patty as I used to be a runner, i.e., 50-60 miles/wk. After sciatica and now nerve pain on my foot I have been sidelined....enough of the woa is me crud...I did the treadclimber today for 30 minutes, then jogged (if you call it that!) for 10 minutes (did .5 mile) I am super pleased as I have not run since august. It's amazing how great I feel emotionally even though I can barely walk.....
Thanks for the support! I hope to be checking in often as I need to be held accountable.

Hey everyone!
Welcome MickD! I've been injured more than I care to talk about, I know what it feels like. I've never come back to where I was before my last injury(fell running, broke my pelvis and tore my hamstring off my butt bone) and was told I needed to give up running. I've been "feeling it" again though and am going to start training a little harder and see how it goes. I've had some 98-mile weeks back in my glory days and still regret not doing those last 2 to this day...lol. You'll be okay, just do what they tell you to do. My sciatica never goes away but I do think the foam roller is helping it.
Had a good class yesterday, it wasn't really tough for me but a lot of others commented that they thought it was really hard. So I think a lot of it depends upon what you like, are strong at, etc...it was an "endurance day" which is easier for me than speed and incline days. The weight circuits weren't as tough to me even though I was still pretty sore from Wed. Anyway, it was the lowest amount of time I've spent in the orange and red zone since I started.
Good to see you Judy! I walked Lucy around some in the dark this morning, it was really peaceful. I used to enjoy my super early morning runs, felt like you were the only person in the world that was awake. I remember running really early in Puerto Rico and listening to the waves as I ran by the ocean...miss that.
bopper, maybe they'll invite you to do a TG segment on the Q! I know they do that sometimes.
nomless, you'll be back to your normal routine in no time...everyone has peaks and valleys.
FUTURE, hope you're feeling better.
We had friends over last night and watched Gravity. None of us really cared for it...lol! It was okay, but we surely didn't love it. I thought the symbolism was corny...so did my kids.
Anyway, today is going to be a long mileage day for this house, one way or the t'other! Haven't decided exactly what we're going to do because of the messy trails but it's supposed to be 60*! I forgot how to dress for that.
Waving to everyone!!! Canine, Lucy had a horrible panic attack all the way up to PA...ay. We're stressing out about driving with her to Newport then from Newport to Va Beach. Have to discuss this with our vet.

Oh! FUTURE, I make different kinds of berry shakes....frozen or fresh fruit with Chia seeds, Flaxseeds, fat-free Greek yogurt, Unsweetened Almond Milk...just throw it all in. My favorite summer-time smoothie is raspberries, banana, blueberries, Chia seeds, some Greek yogurt and the Almond Milk.
I've been trying the veggie shakes...it was beets, celery, lemon, tomato, kale...I think that might be it. Anyway, I forgot the apple for the sweetener and it was not good...lol.
I also had an accident with it(Vitamix) already. We won't get into it on here...but lets just say I no longer own the plunger and my husband had to clean cherries off the ceiling and Lucy was licking them off the cabinets and floor.

On 3/8/2014 PpprMintPatty said:I. Just. Died. Laughing. Give me a minute to recover...........ok, I'm back. That sounds EXACTLY like something I would do. It's just how I roll. Lol!! I would've probably had to call CS when I ordered to ask them if they could throw in an extra plunger.....or four. It was bound to happen. Ok, so today I went to spin and that was about it. Had a million groceries to buy, and took a four hour nap -- shocker!! Tonight I'm catching up on DVR'ed shows and laying low. Bopper, it was chilly here today. And drizzly. Good day for staying in.Oh! FUTURE, I make different kinds of berry shakes....frozen or fresh fruit with Chia seeds, Flaxseeds, fat-free Greek yogurt, Unsweetened Almond Milk...just throw it all in. Hi guys! FUTURE, I made an excellent shake yesterday....blackberries, blueberry, banana, carrot, broccoli, spinach, chia seeds, and unfiltered/no-sugar apple juice. Soooo good!
And it stayed in the blender...lol.
We went to Georgetown yesterday and ran along the waterfront and did the stairs by the Memorial Bridge...great work-out and got some distance in. Lucy is throwing me off though because she runs too fast...lol. Runners went by and clapped and cheered for her and she just ran faster...it was like she knew what they were cheering for...lol!
nomless, right back into 60 min!![]()
Heading to the W&OD trail today, it's a little windy but want to take the bikes out for a spin. We're just going to play it by ear, dh did legs on Friday and ran 4, fast miles and we did a lot of stairs yesterday, and miles, so we'll just enjoy the sunshine and see where the road takes us. It's windy too, up to 24mph gusts.
There's still snow on the ground but dh's friend said the trail is clear.
Have a great day everyone...waving!!
