Ugh. That has happened to me before. Have you been on the medication for a short time? Sometimes takes awhile to get used to it. Maybe you could take closer to bed time. Also possible it's a general afternoon slump. Where some hydration, a healthy snack or even a short walk could perk you up. I hope you're feeling more energized soon!

Seriously? If the med your MD has you on doesn't work for you, have a discussion with them and get put on something else that is better for your needs.
Your "malaise" isn't necessary and is easily corrected.

@katie1859. I have no idea what you're talking about. I've taken BP meds for years and don't have any side effects. What are your symptoms?

Mine causes peripheral and facial edema. I hate it but it's the only proven type of BP med for my pulmonary hypertension.

Blood pressure medicines can make you feel fatigued. If this is something new you are taking it can adjust in a few weeks. If it still makes you tired speak with your doctor.

Are you taking your BP readings when you feel sluggish? Also take your oxygenation readings with a pulse/ox meter. They're inexpensive if you don't have one.
Keep your readings for at least a week to see if there's a pattern.

I have taken meds for years with no such side affects. How about calling your doctor

Another vote for discussing this with the prescribing physician rather than a bunch of strangers who know nothing about your physiology and likely have not been to medical school.

@katie1859 I find that I do get tired mid afternoon and often want to take a nap. I also don't sleep well at night and have wondered if my BP meds have anything to do with it.
I'm seeing my doctor in a couple of weeks and will bring it up.
I also have been drinking hibiscus tea everyday and it helps a lot to bring down BP. I make myself a pitcher of it every other day and drink it as iced tea.
