I just started doing this a couple of times a week with the spray, first I apply coconut oil on the area first, then spray so that it doesn't itch. I use Spectrum coconut oil for hair and skin.

As already suggested, just rinse the residue off after about 20 minutes. That gives the magnesium time to be absorbed. - So apply it about 20-30 minutes before you go to bed to allow time to rinse it off.
