Yes, I can understand why you would dread going for your eye exam. I am also taking Ares 2. Not sure it happens to slow the disease down, because since being diagnosed a few months ago, I have noticed a progression already.
Mr eye Dr, was in a greyt rush and the only question he answered from me was: wet or dry!? I received a lot of help from posters right here on the Q and also a few posters told me about Facebook having informational groups on AMD So, that's where I also went and joined a few groups too.
Just remember you are not alone. We are many who are going through this. We are in various stages too. We understand what you are going through.

I went through many years of eye injections for retina issues, they take a second. The betadine before was worse than the shot. I stopped doing then since it seemed to be a never ending process. I am blind in one eye and have one great eye that I see through

Are you still able to drive? Is it difficult to manage with your limited eye sight?
That's close to where I am now, so don't know what to expect.

Yes, living in NY it's very available and best to travel by bus, or trains.
For the greater part of my life in Brooklyn, the busses and trains took me when and wherever i needed to get any where.
Glad you don't have to deal with driving.
Missing Brooklyn every day...sigh

I have the trunature vision complex Lutein and Zeaxanthin that has 25mg of lutein in it. Wonder if a person could take too much of it and any side effects. Ordered the areds2.

I'd be grateful.
@Flatbush you asked me to update you on the follow-up visit. Well it seems that the Aflibercept worked for the Diabetic Macular Edema for my husband however it gave him a cataract. Back in February it was you have cataracts starting, today it's full blown needs to be removed.
My husband said it wasn't until he was told to cover the "good" eye that he noticed that he couldn't see out of it.
I don't like this group of doctors, never did from the start and needless to say I'm more than a little upset.

For darn sakes, what were they thinking?
So, in "curing" one problem they really created another. Perhaps telling him the possible consequences beforehand, he could have made that decision.
Can you change the group of Drs or would it be a problem in that you would have to change your total medical group.
Yes, upset is probably an understatement. So what now?
BTW, thanks for keeping in touch.
