Low carb diets are generally NOT high in protein. In most cases they are moderate in protein.
High protein diets are different than low carb diets (though some people do consume high protein amounts while on a LC diet). Consuming high amounts of protein is not a concern for people who do not have specific health problems already. - If someone has kidney problems they need to be careful about consuming too much protein. Protein does not cause kidney problems where none existed.

@WinkkI know. I don't know how many of my posts you have read, but I speak from a double major, one which was chemistry because it complemented my main majoe so well. I taught juniors and seniors for thirty six years. My love, however is design, but I did a lot of work in chemistry and nutrition.

@ECBG - I read your post above which contains really good information. I want to lose 20-25 pounds. I have arthritis in both knees and it's getting worse. Carrying less weight around will be a help not just for my knees but my whole body.

I don't know but what I definetly know is to always look for the yellow "whole grain" symbol. That will guide you. Carbs with for example 21 grains may be fooling you. So look for Whole Grain.

Actually, I want to lose 8 pounds to get back to my ideal weight. Years ago I lost 20 pounds on Lindora, which is a weight loss clinic that is "lower" carb, not low carb. It was so easy, and I probably will just see them again.
I've always been a low sugar and low sodium eater. I've looked at the WW meals several times. It just doesn't ring true for me because I would have to actually increase the amount of sugar and carbs I normally eat to be on their diet. However, I'm glad WW works for you.

I have seen Dr Weil in person, and he wasn't overweight. He is barrel chested, which affects his appearance, making him appear to have a thicker waist. You cannot change the bones you were born with.

Weight Watchers does not require one to eat a certain amount of carbs and/or sugar. You have the control on this program.
Anyone who thinks differently does not know the plan.
