Re: Length of time to recover from a cold

It usually takes at least 3 weeks for me to get over just a cold. And most of that time is the after effects not the actual illness. I haven't been sick since maybe 2011 with a cold. Then was dx in 2012 with breast cancer, stayed illness free all during that little adventure and then last Thanksgiving came down with my first ever bronchitis and holy cow----it took my nearly 2 months to finally stop coughing. And I can't take any over the counter stuff so have to suffer thru. Been making and drinking some immunity building smoothies these days.

I think that's about average, it always takes 2-3 weeks for a cold to run it's course.

Yes, husband and I had this cold that's going around and it took 2 weeks to get over it. We never get sick so this was like the plague for us.

Re: Length of time to recover from a cold

My paternal grandmother had a great saying: "One week coming, one week going."

I've found this to be generally true, though adding a few days onto the end is pretty usual for some folks.
