Re: LeBron James . . . really?

Cleveland is like my town, Buffalo.

Sports are HUGE here and sports heroes rule.

Cleveland is thrilled to have him back and to hopefully finally win a title!

Re: LeBron James . . . really?

I, too, reside in NE Ohio and it's been 'LeBron Mania' around here for weeks. Prior to the announcement of his return, the news media was on a 'LeBron Watch.' When it was finally official, people were dancing in the streets. I'm not a basketball (or any sports) fan but am happy for all who are so thrilled. Between him and Cleveland being the site of the Republican National Convention, this is all economic good news for the Cleveland area. docsgirl

This is a huge deal for Cleveland! I grew up not too far away in Western PA and I can tell you -- you can go home again!

Totally over the top! Who cares! Crazy media makes a huge deal and wastes the public's attention on this nonsense.

The people in Cleveland are ecstatic. I'm glad he went back to Cleveland.

Re: LeBron James . . . really?

I like to watch sports once in awhile just to see the athleticism. But I could not care less who wins or loses. It does not affect my day or my life in any way, shape, or form. My husband is another story though. We left the Cleveland area in 2007. I am glad they are happy. Cleveland has gotten a bad rap for years.

"Them"......who is them?

Oh, like Brad and Angelina? Multi millionaires who never tied the knot but have children?

Savannah Brinson was LeBron's HS girlfriend. They've been together since. She's expecting #3. I wish their young family all the best in returning home.

They're making WAY too much of this .... after all, it's just a game! {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Cleveland fans are the BEST. They are very happy Lebron is returning. He went to St. Vincent High School in Akron which is my alma mater. He has his own charitable foundation and is very generous. I'm more than happy he is returning to the Cavaliers and I haven't lived in the Akron- Cleveland for more than 50 years!

In the old game of "follow the money" it is a big deal. It's a multi-billion dollar decision when you factor in business impact such as the sale of new Nike gear, local TV/radio contract (advertising revenues) and the season tickets sales boost for the Cavs, other NBA sponsors, in addition to Nike other personal endorsement deals James has. Also, it never hurts a league as a whole when this kind of attention comes it's way. Like or not NBA arenas in the 2014-15 season will have a nice bump in attendance which translates to parking and concession dollars for the teams) when the Cavs roll through town. Of course the prices to advertise on any nationally televised game featuring the Cavs will be in the top price range the networks charge for regular season NBA games.
