My Mom has really been through it! Aug 25th she had a huge 3rd abdominal hernia repair, then a bowel obstruction and still was not recovering! It's been insane.

Instead of improving, she was deteriorating: Weakness, sudden blurred vision, hearing loss, weakness, VERTIGO! and heart pounding. She does have a pacemaker and she is 85, however before this surgery was pretty healthy.

I take her to her Dr with these symptoms, all her blood work up is fabulous-nothing wrong, go see your opthamologist. Fine...we DO that. He says no changes, I'm sorry nothing I can do. So we're trying to think, what is different since she got home from the rehab. LASIX

I look up the drug side effects and OMG, she has nearly ALL the adverse effects! We call her Dr., they look up the drug and determine, no it is not the pill causing these effects. Are they CRAZY??? I say, OK Mom call your Cardiologist, they deal with this drug on a daily basis.

Just got back and TA-DA!, they are removing her from the Lasix which is a very strong water pill BTW and removing her potassium pill. They will use a less potent diuretic pill that she used in the past with no problems.

I bet...in one week, she will gain her strength back!! If that is true and believe it will be, then we need a new internal medicine DR. She has suffered so much and her M.D. wouldn't listen OR just didn't KNOW....so done.

OMG we are soooooo relieved! The stress has nearly killed me....YEY!! She will be better soon, I just KNOW it.

Now if you know anyone on LASIX and they start developing these symptoms-please, don't think they are crazy. Look into removing them from this brand if extreme symptoms persist.
